One Year Later - Part 2

During the year, between the ceremony and the reception, they had moved into their new home. Life was a lot more homely in this next chapter of their lives.

For this second piece, we wanted to capture all the new memories they have created together.

Our Favourite Things about this artwork are:

☼ At their wedding ceremony, they said their vows under a big oak tree. They were able to revisit the oak tree one year later on the same date at the wedding reception.
☼ The dusk sky represented the evening event. We imagined them relaxing under the tree before the festivities.
☼ They still had travel plans on their mind! We included a map and travel guide.
☼ We carved their initials on the tree and their new home. The glowing lights also have a few cute symbols (cupid arrow and a key to their home)
☼ Being indoors meant taking up a hobby! They planted and propagated lots of indoor plants to decorate their new home.
☼ Tank is enjoying spending time with his new family.

"One Year Later - Part 1"

This first piece was about their Dreams for the Future.

Our Favourite Things about this artwork are:

☼ Seeing the in Iceland was always on their bucket list. We loved the idea of them setting off on their next adventure!
☼ They hoped to introduce a new family member...a Shiba named Tank 🐕We are glad he has made a home with them both!
☼ Their first date was seeing an Alice in Wonderland ballet. A little is visible on Marilyn's key chain
☼ They would always venture out to play in their free time. We included a few of their favourite in the wild!
☼ Aaron's favourite movie is , so we included in the Iceland landscape.

"One Year Later - Part 1"

We worked with Aaron and Marilyn for over 2 years on their Wedding Suite.

The on-and-off COVID restrictions in Melbourne made it challenging to hold a ceremony and reception with a large capacity of people.

Due to these disruptions, they decided to hold their wedding ceremony in the first year and then hold the reception the following year to have the wedding they had always dreamed of.

What made their journey special was their ability to secure both events at the exact same place, and on the exact same date, just one year apart.

It was amazing to create these two art pieces that captured a very special time in their lives.

"The Twelve-Hour Date"

Our Favourite things about their Wedding Art are...

☼ They always wanted to get married surrounded by greenery, so we transformed and into a jungle.
☼ We kept a few iconic characteristics of Degraves Street - the laneway architecture and the umbrella.
☼ We included Geoff's favourite movie and Steph's favourite . It was fun blending these famous characters into the background!
☼ They also loved Wes Andersen films, so we placed this iconic pink gift box in the background from
☼ Their cat Hiroko makes a sneaky appearance. 🐱

"The Twelve-Hour Date"

Steph and Geoff were our first official Indy couple!

Their story begins with a date at Degraves Street. What was meant to be a simple lunch and coffee date soon became a twelve-hour date!

On their date, they discovered many common interests, one of which was their love of films. After hearing their story, we imagined all the wonderful things they would've discussed when they first met and captured it in their wedding art.

Madeleine & Arvind 🧙‍♂️🪄
"The Adventures of Madeleine & Arvind - A Trilogy"

Our favourite things about this wedding suite are:
☼ The wedding theme was Adventure, so we picked iconic scenes from 3 movies
☼ Movie posters inspired the designs. We had a lot of fun recreating the movie's typography!
☼ We added a print to the invite typography, for that extra special finish.
☼ The back of the invite is a postcard design; we even designed the little stamps!
☼ The photo booth template featured 2 x wedding art - and
☼ We created autograph frames for guests to sign around it as a keepsake. The invite artwork was mounted in the middle to commemorate the big day.

Madeleine (M) & Arvind (A) 🧙‍♂️🪄
“The Adventures of Madeleine & Arvind - A Trilogy"

This project inspired us to start working together and create Indy Tales. After seeing how it all came together at the wedding, we realised how fun it could be to create unique art pieces for others to enjoy at the wedding and a personal keepsake for their homes.

Our Favourite Things about this art are:
☼ We picked three iconic scenes from films that truly embodied Adventure
☼ - Gandalf (A) and Pippin (M) warding off the Ringwraiths, killing off Gondor soldiers as they flee to the safety of Minis Trith
☼ - Indiana Jones (A) and Shorty (M) running away from a large boulder after taking the Golden Idol
☼ - Ron (M), Harry (A) and Hedwig, borrowing the flying car to get to Hogwarts

Sher Rill & Madeleine (May) ☁️✨
"Indy Tales - Room of Requirement"

The inspiration behind the art piece is, well... everything!

We wanted to include everything that influenced our creative journey and our story for setting up this business. If only this room were real... it would be amazing. 🩵

Our favourite things about this art piece are:
☼ This scene was inspired by Harry Potter's 'Room of Requirement'.
☼ Japanese Maple Tree - Sher Rill and I met up in Japan a few years ago during the Autumn season
☼ Sailor Moon's Wedding Dress was always magical
☼ All the easter eggs you can imagine - Dragon Ball Z, Studio Ghibli, Beauty and the Beast, Anastasia were some of our favourites growing up.
☼ We used to meet at a cafe in Collingwood called '2 Birds' for our Indy catchups.
☼ The first Indy Invite featured an Indiana Jones theme, which inspired our business name! We wanted wedding themes to not just be a fairy tale but an adventure - hence, Indy Tales was born.

Hi everyone!

We hope you had a great start to 2024!

This year marks many significant milestones for us - we have hit five years of running our little business! ✨

Thank you to everyone who has supported us; we've loved capturing your stories in our art and bringing them to life on your wedding day!

As we juggle with other projects, we've decided to scale back Indy this year. We will keep our Wedding Art and Invite services open but will use Instagram as our primary platform for communications.

It is a little overdue, but over the next few months, we'll start sharing all the incredible work we have worked on over the past few years.
