With so much of the east coast of Australia and more devastated by bushfires, it's been heartbreaking to see so much loss. Loss to life, loss to millions of hectres of bush, of livestock and native wildlife, homes and whole communities ravaged by fire. We have been there watching as we witness the daily struggle for people just like us fighting to protect their homes and their families, displaced, fatigued and confused by the inaction of so many that have been elected to lead.

2020 has begun as the year of fire and smoke, but I sincerely hope it is going to be the year of change on climate change. Could this be our tipping point?

Tomorrow my family and I will be donating to through , at Morningside who are sending food packs to people affected by the fires in Nsw and Vic. There's also an option to donate money, so they can purchase what is needed most. Check out their page for more details on what donations they are looking first most.

💗 R O S A 💗
From the very first dress we created together she has taught me about what is important, not just about life, but about being a designer who has a craft to share with others. In her words, "Fitting a garment is like the internal mechanism of a watch, one millimetre out and it no longer fits. When we cut, we cut to minimise waste and to conserve. And remember that quality should never be comprised".
This commitment to a slower pace, where tradition is more important than
trends is a value that has kept me going over the past 15 years. Admittedly it has been a challenge at times to continue to create in this way, when we live in a world that supports over consummation and the mass produced.
Let each item we buy from now on have a story. Who made it ? Where did it come from? Can my purchase make a difference? We all still have so much to learn from the past and from clever craftspeople like my mamma, Rosa.
