Hi opal lovers, my name is Donna and I started free form opal carving whilst on a trip to Lightning Ridge and Whiteclifts a number of years ago. So yes, I’m still very much a learner. Since then I have loved exposing geological history with every opal, as I have a geology background.
I have decided to start selling a variety of my opals to share my work. These opals are a variety of shapes, sizes and colours. I also have a collection I call artistic opal. This collection has opal, but also polished potch to make a uniquely different stone.
Some opals will be sold in bundles, others as single stones. Most are from raw material, or ruff rubs purchased personally from Lightning Ridge. A small group of opal was purchased online, and your guess is as good as mine as to where there are from.
Very few pieces will be circle, oval or square to slip into a pre made shape, so I’m putting that up straight away. Most opals will have flat solid backs, unless it is two sided. Some are very thin, but none are doublets or triplets, and the first person to say they are Ethiopian, is a dumb ass.
I hope you enjoy these opal, and although constructive criticism is welcome, please keep disrespectful comments to yourself.
