This delightful lady from Cairns (sorry, forgot to grab your name) is visiting her daughter in Darwin. Mindil Beach Sunset Market is a must-do for visitors. She absolutely looooved our bags and left with five in different styles and prints. Vicki and Karen from Perth were at last night. They found us and then found our Zero Waste fabric necklaces made from the tiny fabric remnants left over from bag making. Every one of them is unique and carefully put together by our partners . Spot the fabric design. They both chose black/grey/white tones but they come in a fabulous range of colours.

So we got stuck into some printing the other day at PrintshopNT. This classic design has been pining in a sketchbook for a few years. Only recently got onto a screen. The artist .lee.90 is printing.

Our lack of experience didn’t stop Danella and me from giving it a red hot go. It was pretty epic and after four hours we had a total of 11 t-shirts of semi reasonable quality 🤪 Look out - this is just the beginning…..

Fascinating response to contemporary ‘fashion’ design. I am so interested in the notion of clothes as expression (of self/politics/humour/ideas/history) and/or wearable art. Having just returned from Sydney after facilitating a runway collection for that was a) wearable b) ethically produced c) collaborative d) encouraging viewer creativity because the fabrics are available to make a personal masterpiece (or not)…. and e) relatively affordable, this topic is very much on my mind.

Everyone wears clothes. Textiles are ever present in our lives.
