Philippine’s destruction
Geoff Higgins a member of the Dubbo Community Men’s Shed, has been involved with the Philippines Community for many years and is looking to raise funds, also donations of computers to assist with the rebuild of the country after the devastating Super Typhoon Rai and storms, destroyed or damaged “a staggering 1.5 million houses, more than any other typhoon in recent decades”. More than 90 percent of the buildings on the island, including schools and town halls, were severely damaged or destroyed so the children are suffering, the outlying areas are struggling with items like water and fresh food and that is the reason for this charity drive.

Geoff was originally with a charity group DCFC Philippines Committee with links in the Philippines and he has built up a great working relationship with the Inopacan Grace Baptist Church over the years. All monies raised will go directly to the charity without overheads to a trust account in the name of G Higgins, RV Simpson and Peter Gibbs ITF Inopacan Grace Baptist Church in the Philippines. Due to health and personal reasons Geoff will not be sending anymore sewing machines to the Philippines, rising costs and fees are a major contributor to this decision... Please pass on to anyone that may be involved..... Thanks for all your support over the years....

Just an update on the great job Geoff is doing... The number of computers sent overseas is now over 1200 and 400 sewing machines... More still needed, so if you have a computer or sewing machine you no longer need drop it off to the Shed and we will process it and get it ready for shipping..... what an amazing effort... Well Done Geoff and his offsiders...

Since Geoff started sending items to the Philippines he has sent over 1200 Computers and 450 Sewing machines what an amazing effort.
