Here are the results of my trial burn on the pretty, sparkly Christmas candle.
- Place your candle on a stable, heat resistant surface. Ensure it is not near drafts, ceiling fans etc. & keep clear of anything flammable.
- The first burn of your candle is the most important!
- When lighting your candle for the first time, burn for two to four hours to allow the wax to melt all the way to the sides of the container. Creating a good melt pool (6-7mm) will give off the best fragrance throw. You can see that the Bio Glitter does not burn, it will swirl around in the melt pool & resettle on top again when your candle cools & the wax hardens.
- Soy wax has a memory & ensuring your first burn melts the entire surface, all the way to the edges, will help prevent tunnelling & creates an even burn for the duration of the candle’s life.
- Always trim the wick to approximately 5mm before each burn, this will promote an even burn, steady flame, help limit smoking, wick mushrooming and prolongs the life of the candle. You don’t need a wick trimmer, I just use sharp scissors.
- Remove any debris from your candle, such as wick trimmings & matches.
- Recommended time for each burn is one to four hours. NO MORE THAN 4 HOURS!
- You can see from pictures 4, 6 & 8 that there is a beautiful even burn across the whole surface of the candle, no tunnelling, no wastage!
- Always monitor the amount of wax remaining in your container. Once there is approximately 6mm left, discontinue use. The container can heat up when the flame gets close to the base and there is not much wax remaining. It is very important to follow this rule to help prevent heat damage to the container and the surface around the candle.
