2010 was a big year, full of growth. We moved from our home office to our newly renovated space, inside the old farm packing shed on the Rolfe family property “Torig Park”. The renovation consisted of an office, warehouse and small cutting and sewing space. The inclusion of a workroom enabled us to do very small production runs and custom orders. At this time the team consisted of Warwick, Penny and one maker.
In 2010 our collection consisted of three fabric weights in our 100% Merino interlock fabric (160gsm, 240gsm, 420gsm); new styles were added, including a lightweight longline cardigan for women and a heavyweight unisex vest; and the colour palette expanded to include the colours cobalt blue, lipstick pink, tomato red and slate grey.
At this time our brand was BodyMate by Woolerina, over time our branding was refined to simply Woolerina. It still brings us much joy when someone rings and says "I need to replace my BodyMate" as we know it has been well loved and worn for many years.
Markets, shows and festivals were our primary sales channel, enabling us to come face to face with our customers. In this year we traveled to over 30 different events from southern QLD through to northern Tasmania.
The photos in this email were from a photoshoot with local photographer Bec Bennett, for a feature in Style magazine. It is so nice to reflect on how our branding has changed, the special memories with our beautiful wife and mum, and the doggies that shared the early journey with us.
