Life is hard. At the moment everyone is working a little bit harder, having to manage their spending a bit more consciously, and waiting to see what the world will be after some changes.

Today something happened at the shop that has made me question my time.

The shop was jumping. You know what I like, lots of people, table full of crafters chatting, and I was helping someone with a pattern interpretation.

I would normally be on my own but 2 staff were in to chat and were helping customers.
A person asked Viv about the price of a cardigan and while Viv came to ask me, this person took one of the other jumpers off the hangers and left. Yes…stole! From me… who would have given her a really good price anyway.

My kids are angry, John is cross, Bev will be a good sport and knit another one but now we have security cameras. I am indeed, disappointed.

And this is one of the reasons small businesses close.

I get so busy in the shop I take photos but forget to celebrate our brilliant crafters with you.

Whether you are a confident knitter or crocheter, or an absolute newbie, there is always a place at our table for you! Ring the shop 52296459 and book a seat. 8 groups meet during the week $5 a session; one-on-one times available Monday and Thursday mornings $20/hr.

We have started to stock Noro Silk Garden, and Noro Silk Garden Solo.

"I imagined a yarn that bloomed out of a garden of silk and silk/mohair fabric," says Mr. Eisaku Noro, its creator.

Silk Garden is a glorious mix of 45% silk, 45% mohair and 10% wool. Listed as a medium weight, I use it as a 10ply with needles 4.5-5mm. Hand wash only.
We have 9 colours in stock at the moment and more coming soon. If you have a colourway you want to use, let us know and we will add it to the next order.
