Having said that, our Thai cotton materials have arrived, allowing me to finish Baxter's bow ties, bandannas, and collars. Will show you guys more pictures 😊

World Dachshund Day - 22 June

Not just the shortest day of the year in the Southern Hemisphere, it is a day for all dachshund owners to rejoice and gather at numerous interesting events through the world.

The World Dachshund Day website states that the purpose of the day is to raise the public’s awareness of the breed and assist in its future preservation.

In honour of the occasion, Dachshund Rescue Australia expresses the hope that dachshund lovers will come together to raise awareness and improve legislation in an effort to cut down on the number of dachshunds that need to be rehomed.

Bax & Me wants to participate in World Dachshund Day. To do so, we will donate $5 for every order placed from now until 30 June 2023.

Winter Walking

I had a wonderful time taking walks with Baxter in the autumn. We occasionally walked up to four kilometres. The vet nurse arched her eyebrows when I mentioned how much we enjoyed strolling and how far my small dachshund could travel on foot.

Baxter must have occasionally felt miserable walking during the winter when he turned back halfway through. However, he has to burn off some energy, and the best exercise I like to do with him is walking. I’d love to share some advice I found with you, so here it is.

- I look at the weather forecast and plan my walk during the warmest time of the day.
- I take a shorter walk but spend more time playing dog games with him indoors.
- Lastly, prepare warmly for the weather. He now has an outdoor coat that I made for him, and I make sure he wears it whenever we go outside. Even for a pick-up for coffee or shopping.
