This piece I was thinking Derby day, often you only see the finished hat, so I wanted to explain quickly the process and materials used in making this particular hat. 👒

When this year’s theme was announced I couldn’t think of just one particular enchanted story so why not a book of enchanted stories !

Once upon a time, begins the enchanted stories that spark the imagination in where a story is softly waiting to be told.

When a book is filled with enchanting stories, and yet still waits to write so many more, it becomes a place where magic never truly ends.

So this truely is a coincidence, walking the beautiful streets of Interlaken, Switzerland, I came across yet another “Hat shop “ owned by milliner , unfortunately it was closed so I wasn’t able to go in and introduce myself! 😞

Enjoyed making this cream felt pillbox for Jodi , sponsor for the Millinery section at this years
Before continuing the process a sample of the felt was posted to see if cream matched the colour of her outfit… and it did!

The brief was a pillbox in cream felt, a touch of silver and a few feathers.

Always enjoy working with my clients bringing their vision to life.

What you find when walking the streets in Lucerne, Switzerland.
A hat shop …. Hutmacherei (Hatmaker)
It was such a pleasure meeting the owner Caroline Felber , I was in awe of her shop and her hat-block collection .
So lovely talking all things hat related.
The World hat walk is taking place in Lucerne on the 10th May, sadly I miss out by one day.
Caroline also recommended I visit whilst I’m in Tuscany , don’t mind if I do 😜

Studio taking a 5-week break as we jet off to Switzerland and Italy for our ultimate holiday! (What we call loving retirement)
We'll be conquering the top of Europe and exploring Italy -Sicily, with plenty of exciting stops in between.
