It’s hard to believe that the little girl I hugged goodbye on October 8, 2017, never knowing it would be the last time, is now a teenager. If I had known that hug would have to last me years, I never would have let you go. 😭💔

When you and your brother were taken away, you were moved to another state, and then another. From that day on, we spent years wondering where you were, hoping you were safe, never stopped thinking about you and looking for you.

After almost eight years, in August 2025, we finally got the chance to see your face again through a FaceTime call. It wasn’t the reunion we had always dreamed of, but seeing your smile and hearing your voice meant more than you’ll ever know. Then the caseworkers changed, and since then, we haven’t had contact again. 🚨
Not a single birthday has passed where you haven’t been thought of.

Fourteen years ago, you entered this world as the tiniest little fighter, weighing just 1510 grams. You breezed through your NICU stay and somehow had all the nurses completely in love with you. Every time we walked through those big doors, you were having cuddles at the desk not because you were unsettled, but because you were just so incredibly loved and adored. 🤍
It’s hard to believe that tiny baby is now 14.

So much has changed since the last time I held you. I’m now a mum to two beautiful boys, Acre, who is 5, and Rivvy, who is just 2 months old. There are photos of you around our home, and Acre asks about his auntie his auntie he’s never even had the chance to meet. 💔

I wish you could know how much of a place you still have in our family. You have grown up in years we’ve had to miss, and there are so many moments I wish we could have shared with you.
I hope you know how loved you are. I hope life is kind to you and that you’re surrounded by people who remind you every day how amazing you are.

You have your whole life ahead of you. Have fun, be kind, chase your dreams, make mistakes, laugh until your stomach hurts, and always do what makes you happy.
And wherever life takes you. We love you. We miss you. We think about you every single day.

Would you let your son wear pink? 💗

In our home, our boys can wear whatever they like. Pink just happens to be Acre’s second favourite colour, and we’ll happily let him wear it. 🩷

We believe a colour doesn’t determine masculinity. Our boys’ stories were written long before they were born, and a colour, a toy or something they choose to wear isn’t going to change any of that.

We’re not raising boys who are afraid of pink. We’re raising boys who are confident enough to be themselves, choose what makes them happy and know that their worth, strength and character have nothing to do with the colour they’re wearing. 🥹🫶🏼

So yes, our boys will wear pink. And blue. And purple. And whatever else they bloody love. 💗💙💜
