Some of us find Mum-ming easy, some of us find it super challenging at times (hello! Mama, I know your support system tell you ‘you’ve got this mama, you’re amazing’… but the truth is, there are times when you feel you don’t ‘got this’.. when the world seems so heavy at 1am. When your mind starts racing and intrusive thoughts start to creep in. I hear you, I feel you, I’m right here with you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When it’s the early hours of the morning and you don’t know what else to do, find your outlet, find something to blow out your fuse quickly. Lay your babe down somewhere safe and walk away, take a breather, listen to a song, message a friend who you know will be awake (I message my gf who lives in the Middle East as she’s always awake in my challenging hours of the early mornings). Find that escape and allow your mind, your body and your soul to calm. Use your toolkit. And then breathe, come back to your babe and start again. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Remember mama, the sun will rise again! The birds will chirp and the new day will begin. With fresh energy and something to be grateful for. I know it’s hard to see now but you will survive tonight. You were born to do this, but we are not meant to do this alone. I am here.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

💫 Motherhood ToolKit part 1: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Navigating this responsibility and role of Motherhood comes with many different feelings and emotions that, for me, I’ve not felt before. We have this exorbitant amount of love that fills a place in our heart we didn’t know existed, our blood will literally run dry in order to protect our children from anything that may cause harm, our emotions become raw, heightened, sensitised and big and above all, we discover and learn to love this new woman that has taken a place in our bodies that we’ve known for 20+ years. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As my children grow and expand their beautiful minds, I have found my own mind to sometimes escape me.. ‘how do I deal with this situation?’ ‘Will this benefit my children for their future?’ ‘Why can’t I handle this obstacle?’ ‘How on earth am I going to do this today?’ And so on… in these times of confusion and questioning I knew I had to search further for the responses I was after. After meeting my beautiful Motherhood mentor one of the first things she helped me discover was my Motherhood ‘toolkit’, and since the day we put our minds together to help create mine, my role as a Mother has become more concrete, I trust myself and the process of my Mothering and now more then ever, I am learning a side of compassion that previously I didn’t know I could reach. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In my next post, I’ll be sharing my top 5 go-to’s in my toolkit that help me navigate these deep and high waves, diving deep within myself to overcome the many situations we face in this role that can sometimes be too overwhelming to fathom 🤍

Growing with your partner - requires patience, love in abundance and balance (possibly even sacrifice). It’s the art of communication that aligns the strongest parts of our relationships. 💫⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sometimes we forget to communicate our needs and other times we forget to hone in on our partners needs. Life can be fast paced, mundane and overwhelming, but it’s through these times that we should tap ourselves or our partners on the shoulders and open up about exactly what we’re feeling. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Recently, Kent and I sat down and spoke about what our priorities and expectations are of each other at the moment and going forward, as the tides are so constantly changing in this chapter. We collected our thoughts and put them all on the table. What came of this conversation was A GAME CHANGER!! We spoke about my triggers and how to avoid escalation of the strong emotions I was feeling build up inside, our mental health, how to best support Harpers big emotions, prioritising self care time for us both and most importantly we decided that we needed to realign and reconnect as a family. So we put everything down, and did just that.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What came of this special time together is unexplainable. Our girl is realigned, our relationship with one another is calm and filled with more patience and the energy throughout our home is pure magic. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m sharing these words with you, in case you need a small reminder to check-in with yourselves and your families. Is there anything that you and your partner could do this week to help realign yourselves and reconnect?

As my insecurities crept in surrounding my skin this past few weeks postpartum, at the most perfect time, she handed me a flower and whispered to me while looking deep into my eyes.. ‘beautiful mummy’. My eyes filled with tears and my heart expanded with love. She is my big, beautiful and gentle reminder that real beauty isn’t what we see on the surface, it is what they see, what they feel and what is within 💫

As you look in the reflection and see all of your imperfections, ask yourself, ‘what do my children see?’ Ask your children to tell you what they see.

Today I learnt another beautiful lesson from my child. What do you learn from yours? 🤍

During my maternity leave journey I’ve been able to disconnect from the world and absorb in my own worldly home, filled with a newborn, a toddler, a hubby, a Bengal and a new home AND not to mention an ever evolving woman 🙋🏽‍♀️
