Makia The Baby Journal

Makia The Baby Journal Store your baby's photos, facts and feelings on your phone. Print a copy at the end of the year.

The idea for Makia began in 2020 when two new parents discovered how easily memories could fade away in the chaos of their days. They found themselves desperate to note down funny stories and special moments in a safe place and have all their baby photos in one spot...uninterrupted by useless screenshots and photos of their morning coffee. They quickly enlisted a tech-savvy team to start crafting

the baby journal of their dreams. They hope Makia will help busy parents capture all those precious moments in an easy, safe and beautiful way.

In a world that’s always pulling us away from what really matters, this is how I’ve decided to live my life. I’m not perfect, but I’m always striving to live it. Every day, for my kids, the way my parents did for me.

“Mom’s vs. Dad’s reaction to finding out you’re having not 1 but 2 babies 👶🏻 👶🏻 Surprise!!

Our reactions couldn’t be more opposite 🤣 I only knew I was pregnant before this moment and I just so happened to book an ultrasound at 9 weeks to see if we could see baby while I was out in the desert teaching workouts at Coachella…

During the appointment the lady was scanning my belly and was super quiet. I had been in this same situation before so I was preparing for the worst. Jordan kept asking, “Is there a heartbeat?” while holding my arm. The lady continued to scan my belly and just say “Ummmm….” and this felt like eternity. Finally she said “I think there’s 2 babies! Let me go get my supervisor.”

I immediately start uncontrollably crying. It’s the first time during an ultrasound that I got good news, that there’s actual life forming in my belly(x2) and I felt so damn happy!!🥹🥰 Then all the other thoughts began rushing in:

How am I going to become a mom for the first time to 2 babies?

We are going to need a bigger house & car!

Is my body going to have enough room to grow 2 babies?

How am I going to feel continuing to run my business and lead my workouts?

My mind was spiraling all at once yet I was in the moment and remember every detail. To see how excited Jordan got made me the happiest💕 It gave me peace & comfort knowing that he’s always supported me and will continue to support our growing family. I have no doubt he’s going to be such an amazing dad.

Honestly, I still get nervous with each doctor’s appointment(especially since I’m considered a high risk pregnancy) and so I will just continue to pray, surrender & trust God 🙏 as I also take really good care of nurturing myself & the babies during this time. pregnant babykeepsakes thirdtrimester kiwimum secondtrimester melbournemum melbournemums newborn brisbanemums nzmums sydneymum perthmum newzealand australia pregnancyannouncement newbaby BirthStory pregnancyreveal expectingmom firsttimemom

Babies are born wired for connection. 🤍

Being present, slowing down, and noticing their little cues helps us nurture that connection.

Loving touch, eye contact, a calm voice and responsive care help babies feel safe and connected.

It’s not how we feed our babies that creates connection.
It’s the love, presence and safety we give them along the way.

every moment. Cherish every memory.

Newborns don’t just enter the world. They awaken ours and show us what matters.

In the quiet moments, as we rock and breathe together, we’re reminded of the power of slowing down. These tiny beings teach us to embrace presence, to connect deeply with each moment, and to let go of the rush.

As parents, carers, and nurturers, we hold space not just for them to grow, but for ourselves to grow too. When we choose mindfulness, we create a deeper bond and allow space for more love, patience, and understanding in our hearts.
