Fun day in class yesterday!
Christine finished her hoodie and pants set, cleverly made from a blanket, and it looks absolutely amazing. The print placement is perfect, making the most of the design and creating a truly unique outfit.
What a fantastic project and a great example of creative sewing. Well done, Christine — you look so cool!

More from our Christmas Survey 🎄🧵
What have you made that you're most proud of?
There were some fantastic answers to this one!
✨ My son
✨ My GT Falcon (that was definitely John! 😂)
✨ My Jester outfit
✨ A Mini Minor 60s shift dress
✨ My high-top boots
✨ A pair of culottes
✨ Caramel slice (not sewing, but we all agree it's something to be proud of! 😋)
✨ My aprons
✨ A pattern with 13 pieces
✨ Costumes for live theatre
✨ A weekender travel bag
✨ My first bag – and I loved making it
✨ A 3-piece suit
✨ Soft toys
✨ A dress with decorative stitching
✨ A summer top
✨ A computer bag
✨ A dinner jacket
✨ PJs for my husband and sons
✨ My denim coat
✨ Bras
✨ Making clothes from photos
✨ My latest skirt
✨ My tablecloth top
✨ The Wednesday Night Top – and convincing the rest of the class to make one too! 🤣
✨ Dresses that actually fit me
✨ My first dress
✨ My "Off the Scrap Heap" quilt
✨ Dresses for my granddaughters
✨ A tie dress
✨ Pants
✨ My Sphinx top
✨ My suit
✨ A shirt
✨ My pink dress
What I love about these answers is that being proud isn't always about the most complicated project. Sometimes it's your first dress, a pair of pants that finally fit, or a special gift made for someone you love.
Every project teaches us something, and every finished project is an achievement worth celebrating.
So, what sewing project are you most proud of? ❤️🧵✂️

✨ 20 scrub caps for a daughter and all her work friends

So tell me... what's the weirdest thing you've ever sewn?

🧵 Where's your favourite place to buy fabric?
We recently asked our students, and the answers were fantastic!
🏆 Winner: Spotlight (Gold Coast) was the clear favourite. One student summed it up perfectly:
"I know my way around Spotlight!" 😂
And if you're visiting the Burleigh store, keep an eye out for Jade, one of our Tuesday night students. She's always happy to help!
Many people also mentioned how much they miss Fabric Frenzy on the Gold Coast. The good news is they're still online, so you can still shop with them.
🥈 Second Place: The Fabric Collection (Sumner Park)
🥉 Third Place: The Fabric Store (Brisbane)
