Getting married in Laidley QLD.
Caitlin's dress was too small at the back. We removed some of the elastic loops and buttons, created a lower "V" back look. Shortened beaded shoulder straps, removed the side bust gape and attached bust cups to create a better shape. We shortened hems and put on a bustle for the train. Caitlin was pleased with the results.

Thank you for the photos by photographer Joan Collective.

Steph went to Scotland for her best friends wedding.

After purchasing the dress and once it arrived, Steph loved the shape of her tulle dress, but wanted to change the neckline. We lowered and widened the neckline and added bra keepers. We removed one row of tulle trim near the waist area. With this extra trim, we relocated it around the new newline to give it that extra panache. We recommended to add a cotton mini hoop and a wide matching coloured belt to complete "The Look".
Steph was very happy with the results.
Thank you Steph for sharing your amazing photos

Getting married in Mudgeeraba QLD.
Bec purchased this beautiful wedding dress and wanted to change the spaghetti straps. We shortened several hems including a lace edge hem. Recycled this fabric to create the new off the shoulder straps look. We stitched up the front mesh closer for a better fit, added bust cups for a fuller shape.
Bec was very happy with the outcome.

Thank you Bec for sharing your lovely wedding photos by Hawthorne creative.

Going to her Formal

Holly wanted to wear something different for her formal. Going shopping at "Bunny hole vintage " she fell in love with this georgous burgundy dress. A designer 'Studibaker' a 1980's dress in perfect condition.
The back was a tad small and could not do up the zipper. We lowered the zipper to the waist and created loops and a lace up design, Holly loved the new look.

Thank you Vanessa for sharing Holly's lovely formal photos- she looked amazing!

Re-model American vintage 1994 wedding dress

It was Brittany's dream to wear her mother's wedding dress created in the USA. This dress was a tad small at the back and the sleeves were too thigh. We removed the old zipper, created loops and a lace up design. We added a modesty panel for the back and letting out the sleeves for better movement. On this stunning wedding dress, all the sequins had aged, gone yellow sitting in the bridal box for 31 years - this can happen!
It took us 17 hours to replace all the new sequins and add beads where they had gone missing. The results were amazing- looked like a new dress. To complete the look, Brittany purchased a very large hoop to manage her full skirt and long train. Brittany and her mother Catherine were very happy with the results.

All the best to the happy couple Brittany and Sam πŸ’–

Getting married in Saint Stephen's Cathedral Brisbane.

We fine tuned Juliette's gorgeous wedding dress, bust cups were added to create a better shape. To complete the look, we added a mini cotton hoop, created two bustles for the long train, we arranged the shoulder drape at the back - to fit better. This helped to manage her dress with ease. Juliette was rapt with the results.

Thank you Anastasia for sharing your daughter's stunning wedding photos by photographer Samantha Li, Company The infinity collective.

Upcycle an 80's young girls dress

Gail contacted us and asked:
She has this beautiful raw silk dress that her dad brought back from Thailand when she was 10 year old. Wondering if a top could be made out of it ? She just loves this fabric and could not part with this beautiful dress - so many memories... We do love a challenge.
Now, 45 years later, we re-modeled this garment into a top, that will be worn again with pride.
This is what we came up with, Gail was very happy with the outcome.

Running out of ideas for your loved one ?

My husband Craig, his favourite Converse shoes finally had to retire. The soles came off, worn out and not safe for walking! I went to the Converse shop to re-order a new pair for Christmas. The shop assistant at the time said - they don't make this model any more and its not a fashionable model.
At the shop I did purchase a lime green coloured Converse shoes, I had an idea to go ahead and paint them myself.
Next step, was to go to the Art shop to purchase the paint that was suitable to paint on canvas shoes.
Next step, to create the design, draw onto the canvas shoes, paint and let it set - this did take a lot more time i had originally planned - remember this was was Top Secret project...
Once completed painting these lime green Converse shoes, putting back the lace up ties, I was pretty happy how good the shoes looked.
My husband was so surprised and loved his new Converse shoes 😘

As another year comes to a close, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to every client who trusted me with their garments in 2025 🀍

From alterations and dress modifications, to the careful restoration and re-modelling of vintage gowns filled with history and meaning β€” it has been a privilege to work on pieces that carry so many memories and emotions. Every pin, stitch, bead and length of lace tells a story, and I’m grateful to have been part of yours.

Now it’s time to gently put down the pins, needles and threads, pack away the beading and lace, and take a few well-earned rest days over the Christmas break πŸŽ„βœ¨

Re-model of a Vintage 1992 wedding dress.

The bride wish was to wear her mother's stunning wedding.
She wanted to add her own vision, simplify the dress, remove the 90's relics and puffy sleeves. We recycled some of this fabric. Removed the old zipper for an invisible one, created loops and a tie up with a modesty panel for the back bodice. We shortened the train and the skirt into a ball gown length.
The bride was happy with the outcome.

All the best to the happy couple πŸ’–
