The Tan Track - Melbourne
No trip to Melbourne feels complete without a lap of the Tan. Circling the Royal Botanic Gardens, this iconic 3.827km loop brings together locals, visitors, walkers, run clubs and athletes of every level. The packed gravel track is clearly marked every 250 metres, making it ideal for structured sessions or chasing a faster lap.
Most of the route is flat, but Anderson Street adds the famous Heartbreak Hill before the track passes the gardens and Shrine of Remembrance. Each year, RUN THE TAN brings the running community together for an officially timed lap of the iconic circuit while raising funds and awareness for mental health.
We finished with coffee at Baker Bleu, but there are plenty of quality cafes nearby.
