VAFA HQ - Division 2 - MHSOBFC vs West Brunswick.

A special day down at Woodfull -Miller Oval alongside the Yarra the other week with the club recognising Domestic & Family Violence Prevention with a formal luncheon preceding the Seniors and a raft of Auction items on offer with all proceeds going to "Not One More Niki".

Such a critical cause within the community, SSA supplied a one off signature MHSOB jumper reflecting the charity's bespoke orange which formed part of the Auction items on the day.

Well done to all concerned.

The match itself was a cracker with very little between both sides all day with the home side taking the points.

Yarra Junior Football League - Under 16 Girls - Hawthorn Citizens Junior Football Club vs Fitzroy JFC.

Rain greeted the ladies from Hawthorn Citz a few Sundays ago but it mattered little as completely dominated their opposition from start to finish displaying an uncompromising brand of footy. Well done girls. Great effort.

Yarra Junior Football League - Youth Boys - Hawthorn Citizens Junior Football Club vs Parkside JFC.

Some cracking action in the last game of the day at home of the mighty "Citz" - Rathmine's Reserve on Sunday. Very evenly matched most of the day the visitors got up in the end in an entertaining game. The footy was very fast and clean and it's easy to see why the YJFL is one of, if not the preeminent standalone Junior Football Leagues going around.

Off the field, the YJFL do not do things by halves with a formally trained medic attending every ground across every game, every weekend. Entrusting the kids wellbeing to a professional each game. You can't put a dollar value on the peace of mind that must give parents. What's more, it doesn't cost the clubs a single cent. Throw in 3 free Sherrin's for every team at no cost too. The piece de resistance though had to be the extraordinarily high standard of umpiring with the two young men also officiating on the Saturday in the VAFA.

FIDA - 2026 Season launch - Williamstown Seagulls FIDA FC.

Last Sunday saw the season launch of one of the most worthwhile and beneficial football leagues of any kind which took place down at Fearon Reserve in W***y with a FIDA (Football Integration Development Association) Allstars side taking on a collective of Victorian Parliamentarians from across the political divide.

With a couple of ring ins, if you thought the "Owls" weren't taking it seriously, you'd be kidding yourselves. After all, is there any more combative and competitive space than that of Spring Street! But thankfully the Allstars got up in an entertaining game.

We spoke with a player at one of the breaks and he was so excited with all the attention he proclaimed that it "felt like a grand final". To see the unbridled joy on the participants faces is just beyond heart-warming and at SSA we couldn't be more thrilled to support such a worthwhile and essential social service.

Umpiring royalty was also in the house in no other than former VAFA umpiring legend Mark Gibson who officiated.

Congrats to Rob Klemm from Seagulls FIDA (and the Supers, CY's, W***y VFL & W***y Juniors who all back in and contribute towards the club as well) but also the wider FIDA community who in collaboration, put on a fantastic day with food, entertainment and wonderful activations onsite also making it incredibly memorable.

Central Victoria Football League - Wedge-Tailed Eagles Football Club vs Bendigo Womens Football Club.

You'd have to have been living under a rock to not be aware of the enormous struggle the ladies from Kyneton have gone through to be able to get out on the park over the last 18 months as an entity in their own right.

Appearing on A Current Affair, ABC News & Radio and all the major papers the girls left no stone unturned even training on the doorstep of AFL HQ along with a never ending array of attempts at making there cause front of mind which finally culminated in the Premier stating "Just let them play". The "Wedgies" as they are now known, displayed a remarkable "never say die" attitude as they faced road block after road block with limited light at the end of the tunnel.

So on Good Friday when the girls lined up against Bendigo Womens FC in the clubs inaugural game, it was surreal in the extreme.

The scoreboard was superfluous as the Wedgies no doubt felt like they had achieved a W by just running out onto the ground in the first place but the ladies had a job to do and they did it in style holding the opposition scoreless.

With import jumpers weeks away, the girls had literally nothing to wear and SSA received an exemption to ensure the girls did look the part in their very first game. After custom fitting each team member, two weeks later the girls were presented there jumpers on the last night of training.

Special mention to the Bendigo girls who clapped in unison as the Wedgies ran out and played the game with spirit and were more than willing to gather as a collective post game and celebrate as one.

After an exhausting 3 months working day and night, our last delivery is heading out tonight ahead of the footy season start across a number of leagues this weekend.

We’ve even assisted other leagues/clubs (with exemptions provided) where we don’t hold a licence because importers couldn’t meet expectations. It’s been hectic and we’ve broken all records.

With well over half the orders produced within 28 days, it can’t be achieved without the dedication of the best staff in the business. Only with Melbourne Made!!!!

The boys and girls from Sporty Netball Hoppers Crossing put on a scintillating display on Saturday with many new to the sport and indeed club taking the W. Well done one and all.

One of SSA's very first customers way back in 2012 was the mighty Phoenix Netball Club. After a year or so, we redesigned the uniform and thanks to an open brief, some 14 years on, it's still one of the most unique looks going around and broadly commented on. Proof that professionally designed kits stand the test of time and truly endure.
