💕 A LITTLE INTRODUCTION FROM ME – LEESA, THE FACE BEHIND DESIGNS BY LEESA! 💕✨
Hi everyone! 👋❤️
I thought it was about time I introduced myself and shared a little bit about the person behind Designs by Leesa and the sometimes chaotic, bead-covered world I live in! 😂
🎨 CRAFTING HAS ALWAYS BEEN MY HAPPY PLACE!
I’ve loved crafting for as long as I can remember. I’ve tried just about every craft under the sun, and when I say tried, I mean EVERYTHING! Some have turned out beautifully, while others… well, let’s just say we won’t be adding those to my resume! 🤣🙈
I love learning new things, experimenting with different ideas and seeing what I can create. If it involves making something with my hands, chances are I’ve either tried it, thought about trying it, or have supplies for it hidden somewhere in my house! 😂
💜 MY CRAFTING JOURNEY💜
I had to give up work due to Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Living with MS brings its fair share of challenges, and one of the biggest for me is that my hands don’t always want to cooperate.
Something as simple as picking up a tiny bead, threading it or putting a design together can sometimes be a real challenge. My hands have a mind of their own, and unfortunately, they don’t always consult me before making decisions! 🤦♀️😂
But here’s the thing… it makes every single thing I create that little bit more special to me. ❤️
Every item I make takes time, patience, determination and sometimes a whole lot of stubbornness! There are days when things take much longer than they should, and I have to stop and start as my hands allow.
And if you think I’m exaggerating about the beads, you clearly haven’t seen my floor! 🤣🤣
When my hands decide they’ve had enough, those little beads seem to develop wings. One minute they’re in my fingers, and the next they’re scattered across the floor like I’m preparing for a very unusual treasure hunt! 💎😂
🔮 WHY AM I OFTEN AWAKE AT 2 AM?
Well, some people count sheep… I make things! 😂
The pain and leg tremors that often hit at night can make sleeping almost impossible. So, rather than lying there staring at the ceiling, I often find myself crafting at 2 am.
While the rest of the world is fast asleep, you might find me sitting there surrounded by beads, working on my latest creation and wondering why I ever thought using tiny beads was a good idea! 🤣
Crafting gives me something positive to focus on when the pain is distracting and the nights seem endless. It keeps my mind busy, gives me a sense of purpose and allows me to keep doing something I absolutely love.
Some nights, the only thing keeping me company is my craft supplies, a million scattered beads and the occasional conversation with myself! 😂❤️
🌈 WHAT AM I CREATING AT THE MOMENT?
Right now, I’m having a bit of a love affair with BEADS! 💕✨
From colourful creations to personalised pieces, I love experimenting with designs and turning little ideas into something special.
Every item you see on my page has a little piece of me in it. Not just because I’ve physically made it, but because of the time, effort, patience and love that goes into creating it.
I may take a little longer than someone whose hands work perfectly, but I put my heart into everything I do. ❤️
💕 A LITTLE REMINDER
MS may have changed my life, but it hasn’t taken away my creativity, my sense of humour or my determination to keep making beautiful things.
Some days are harder than others, and some projects test my patience more than I care to admit! But I keep going, one bead at a time.
