Can you believe it’s only 2 more sleeps to Ladies Day?! Registrations will open at 12:00pm on Wednesday 4 October at the Fashions on the Field Stage.
Hannans Handicap Ladies Day is a spring racing event, so the judges will be looking for outfits that are appropriate to the season and for a race meet. Entrants must be 18 years or over, and millinery must be worn to be considered.
Best Dressed Lady, 1st Runner Up & 2nd Runner Up criteria:
• Appropriateness of the outfit for spring racing fashion, including appropriate skirt/pants and no excessive exposure of skin.
• Interpretation of the latest fashion trends into a racing fashion outfit.
• A high level of grooming and elegance. Big smiles and confidence are key.
• A cohesive look that flows through the outfit, millinery, shoes, bag, jewellery and even nail polish. Attention to detail is important and will not go unnoticed.
Best Dressed Local criteria is the same as Best Dressed Lady, but the entrant must currently reside in the 6430 & 6432 postcodes.
The Best Millinery award is an invitational, which means that roving judges will be handpicking 10 racegoers from the crowd to be considered for this award. Entrants will be given a card to confirm their selection, and be asked to present themselves at the Fashions on the Field holding pen near the stage at approximately 2:15pm just before race 3. The judges will select the winner of this award once all entrants have paraded. Make sure that you are trackside by 12:30pm as the roving judges will commence their search from then.
Please note that this Fashions on the Field event strongly supports a positive community of Fashions on the Field entrants, and any contestant that is found to be acting outside the spirit of this community will be immediately disqualified from the competition. Negatively and openly discussing an entrant’s outfit or appearance will not be tolerated.
Please also note that the judges’ decisions are final and will not be re-litigated after announcements are made. We have selected a panel of 4 judges that are well-versed in racing fashion events and trends to ensure that there is a well informed and fair decision.
