NEW CAST ON:
This is a modified version of the designed by Park & Knit πŸ₯°

Instead of garter, I'm doing stockinette, and I'm also doing a v shaped back, hoping it will come out reversible.

I'm doing a stripe pattern of 2 rows with Spinning Yarns Weaving Tales Holy Goat 8 (95% Wool, 5% Cashmere 159m/50g - Colour: Hellebore)

and 4 rows with Green Tea Yarns Gyrokuro (64% Kid Mohair, 23% Silk, 10% Sequins, 3% NSW Merino - Colour: Black Cherry)

The softness and the sparkle is devine. Once I get all the pieces together and check the fit, I may do some extra shaping in the waistline, as I'm thinking it will be more neautral ease than positive as the pattern recommends.

I've also gone down a needle size and can only make it as long as my 600 METERS TOTAL will allow. SO MUCH CHAOS!!!!

STORY TIME πŸ‘‡

Over 6 years ago, I wanted to make a pair of socks for my boyfriend as a token of my affection. He only wears black socks.

So I spent the weird lockish downish dark haze of May 2020 knitting these bad bois up. Toe up, heel flap and gusset, and I bound off in pattern.

The cast off was too tight, and he never wore them, even losing one for about 3 years before finding it again (black socks are hard to spot in a black backpack).

I've FINALLY fixed the bind off on one sock and learnt a new sewn bind off in the process. One down, one to go!

New bind off is neon pink, so he'll never lose them again πŸ˜‰

BENDIGO TRIP SHOW AND TELL
(..excluding some vintage clothes I got in Melb cause they're in the wash)

Treasures mostly from - I went in with no budget or real plan, just some loose guidelines:

- Avoid brown cellulose yarn (I favoured these previous years and would like some more colour in my wardrobe, its my comfort zone)
- No Lace weight ( I struggle to find and stick with patterns under a 3.5mm needle)
- Nothing I can source and dye myself easily ( Other yarn dyers can probably relate. I love looking at all the talent and hard work from other artists, but I dont need to take it home if I have similar bases)

- Favourite Find 2026

- 4 x Gyrokuro 50g/300m 1x in Black Cherry, 3x in Ming Tile. (64% kid mohair, 23% silk, 10% sequins, 3% nsw merino).
- 2 x Rooibos 100g/350m in Banksia (69% Silk, 22% Mohair, 9% Nylon)

These yarn bases are PHENOMINAL. The photo doesn't show the mini sequins and sparkle of the Gyrokuro, or the buttery softness and drape of the Rooibos. I was also SO impressed with the dyeing. So many beautiful colours in all different vibes.

- My Bendigo Go-To

- 4 x Dooish 100g/200m 100% Wool in the oil. 3 x 3637, 1 x 3710

- 2 x Holy Goat 8 50g/150m Colour Hellebore

I ADORE this yarn. I've made 3 garments out of various bases, and I love the smell and how it blooms after washing. I'm excited to try a new base, too!

- New to me stallholder
2 x 100% Eri Silk 5ply/sport (100g/350m) in Toffee

I am VERY EXCITED to give this naturally dyed, cruelty free silk a go! It feels lovely, can't wait to see how it drapes and wears!

Little Extras:

I had my first ever trip to ever (yes, during their closing down sales). I picked up some cute buttons, and some cotton and embroidery thread.

Also .linds bought me a beautiful tea towel while she was getting some ink. It goes perfect with my studio πŸ₯°

90's kids may remember the "girl" Lego sets. I still have my collection. These were my favourite Lego sets. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
