ARTISAN OF THE WEEK - LISSA

Lissa is a local artisan and handmade book creator who lovingly crafts unique, one-of-a-kind books by hand. Each book is thoughtfully made using a beautiful selection of quality materials, including leather covers and specialty papers.

Lissa uses traditional bookbinding techniques, including Coptic stitching, to carefully bind each book. This process is done by hand, with attention given to every stitch and detail, creating books that are not only beautiful but also durable and functional.

She selects quality papers, including handmade paper, to ensure her books are suitable for a variety of creative uses. They can be enjoyed as journals, sketchbooks or creative journals for drawing, watercolour, mixed media and other forms of artistic expression.

For Lissa, bookmaking is both a craft and a creative journey. She enjoys experimenting with different materials, techniques and designs, continually challenging herself to learn and create something new.

She is proud to share her handmade work locally, bringing a traditional craft together with her own creativity to create books that are made to be used, treasured and enjoyed.

Simmer for 5mins add 150ml of milk of choice.
Serve with a dusting of cinnamon.
