Remember when your mate started a business and everyone rallied behind them?
You’d buy the candles.
The soap.
The raffle tickets.
The mystery Tupperware container.
The frozen lasagne.
Not because you desperately needed any of it, but because someone you cared about was having a crack and you wanted to see them succeed.
These days things are a bit different.
Let’s be honest, “disposable income” feels like a mythical creature. Right up there with affordable groceries and houses under $500k.
But somehow we’re all still finding ways to acquire random things we absolutely didn’t know we needed until 11:47pm while doom scrolling.
Humanity remains committed to the cause.
Which got me thinking…
When was the last time you checked in on that friend who makes things? The artist. The market stall owner. The small business owner. The creator quietly building something between work, kids, life and a mild caffeine addiction.
Not because you’re expected to buy anything.
But because sometimes a like, comment, share or recommendation goes a lot further than people realise.
Anyway, this is your reminder that I’m still here.
Still creating.
Still designing weird, wild and slightly unhinged things.
And still incredibly grateful for every person who chooses to support a small Australian business.
