🧵 LOCAL SEAMSTRESS WANTED! 🧵

We’re looking for a reliable, experienced local seamstress who would be interested in taking on some regular alteration work for our customers — particularly hemming jeans.

We’re hoping to find someone who would like a little extra business coming their way, and we’re happy to discuss an arrangement that works well for both of us. 😊

We never know which size it’s going to be, that sells out first. We never know what size is going to be the last to sell. You probably thought putting money on a size 8 would have been a safe bet? You’d have been wrong this week 😂. Just a reminder that 1) we buy weekly 2) we only get 2 of each size 3) these small labels we stock do not mass produce, once it’s gone it’s almost never re-cut. So we can’t just re-order. If it frustrates you that the item you went to “think about” or were “coming back to try on when you had more time” is sold out now, imagine how frustrated we get when you get frustrated with us? (We have been telling you this for years now)

When cutting up a large format style print on fabric, different sections of the print are going to become the sleeve, or the bodice or the back every time. This is what we are referring to when we say “placement” of the print on a garment. Every single piece will be a little different due to this placement, making each one even more special and unique.

3 New "Meredith" tops have just been uploaded. There are sooo many reasons why this top is beloved by so many of our customers. The top customer comments are 1) The fabric is "Amazing". Easy care, oh so cool and comfy and WASHES beautifully (you really don't hear that comment too often about some clothing do you?) 2) Easy care. Really no ironing necessary, which makes them great for travelling. 3) Most are usually a natural blend ( 70% viscose which is derived from Bamboo), they breathe beautifully, so you know you are going to be COOL. 3) Unique. The same print/colour way is rarely re-cut - EVER - so you have a unique piece that looks completely different to the other 3 Meredith tops you already have in your wardrobe, (cause you LOVE them). 4) The generous over size is perfect, (but absolutely DO go down a size!) and for those that usually have problems with tight upper sleeves, there is NO problem here. 5) There are so many ways to style them, so you can get several different looks for the 1 piece in your wardrobe. Give them a French tuck, a knot in the front, a mullet tuck or wear a contrasting cami singlet underneath and wear it as a shacket. The options are endless. Basically, there's a reason why one of our most popular labels keeps making new prints in this cut and why we keep buying them for you guys. Because you keep buying them, because you love them!

Don’t just dismiss them out of hand, Give Them A Try! Seriously, think about it. Why would we have 6 different versions, all of this same cut, in our tiny little shop? Because they are so popular. Everyone when they try one, ends up wanting one in every colour (Like me 😂) because they love them so much. Stop looking at them on a rack and saying “They’re too long for me”, “ They’re too wide for me”, “They won’t suit me” and just TRY THEM! You don’t actually KNOW anything unless you try.

But honestly, this one feels so very extra special.

So while the trophy is lovely (and yes, we are very proud of it 😂), it’s that first part that means the absolute most to us.

And after the last few years, with so many local businesses closing their doors and things being so incredibly difficult for businesses of all shapes and sizes, we honestly can’t tell you how much that means.
