I’ve found myself with an hour to spare between an appointment and school pick up. Lucky I had my embroidery to do! This project has been a WHILE in the making but progress feeds progress! This hour to myself has been a while in the making too. The end of 2025 and beginning of 2026 has been overwhelming to say the least. Our classes are busier than ever, our studio space is still evolving, we are seeing more and more new faces in classes and well, family life is always evolving too. I’ll be honest, I’ve been struggling and with a broken elbow as well. But I feel like I am on the way up. And I gotta say, this little moment of creative calm has helped a great deal. And sometimes, we just gotta stop. Have you done as necessary craft for mental health lately??

Meet our new teacher! Ros is joining the Useflbox crew this year focusing on craft and kids classes.

I first met Ros when she signed up to a class and we became immediate friends. Ros has a great big heart, can put anyone at ease and is quick to make us all giggle. Skills she also puts to use in her work as a casting director.

Ros is bringing her mad craft skills to Usefulbox with Make your own monsters and stuffed Owl classes. Along with taking on an afternoon kids class and upcycling classes!

Ever dreamed of sewing your own custom sneakers? Join us for a fun, hands-on Make Your Own Sneakers Workshop with , where you’ll learn the skills and techniques to create a unique pair of wearable shoes from scratch.

Friday 28 February | 9:00am – 4:30pm

During this full-day class, you’ll be guided step-by-step through the sneaker-making process — from cutting and assembling through to finishing details. You’ll learn how to sew thicker materials, work with foam, set grommets, and assemble footwear components with confidence.

By the end of the day, you’ll head home wearing (or proudly carrying!) your very own handmade sneakers — and with the confidence to make more.
