Alumni Success Story | Bronzen Taylor Bogaars
What happens when creative talent is paired with business capability, industry knowledge and entrepreneurial confidence?

For Melbourne Fashion Hub alumnus Bronzen Taylor Bogaars, it led to much more than the development of a fashion label.

Since participating in the program, BTB Studios has continued to build his creative practice through BTB Studios while also establishing Pieces a platform that creates retail and collaboration opportunities for other emerging creatives.

His journey demonstrates that success in fashion isn’t always measured by sales alone. Sometimes it’s about building something that creates opportunities for others.

Bronzen’s work is a powerful example of how emerging designers can evolve into creative entrepreneurs, community builders and industry leaders. Through Pieces Pieces Pieces, he is helping strengthen Melbourne’s creative ecosystem while continuing to develop his own distinctive practice.

At Melbourne Fashion Hub, we’re committed to helping designers build sustainable careers by developing the business skills, industry connections and confidence needed to navigate the realities of running a creative enterprise.

Applications for the 2026/27 Melbourne Fashion Hub Fashion Business Program close on 19th July.

If you’re ready to turn your creative vision into a viable business or a career in the industry we’d love to hear from you.

Why I built this. 🧡 Mitfreude

After spending years in the creative industries, I kept seeing the same thing.

I’d go to graduate shows, watch incredibly talented designers present their work, and then hear the same thing afterwards: “I don’t know what’s next.”

So many brilliant creatives were leaving with the talent, the ideas and the passion, but without the business knowledge, networks and support to turn that into something sustainable.

Melbourne Fashion Hub originally started as a simple pop-up to showcase emerging talent. But it quickly became clear there was a much bigger need: a place where designers could learn the business side, build confidence and grow alongside others who understood the journey.

A guiding principle from the beginning has been Mitfreude — the joy we feel when others succeed. Because building a creative business doesn’t have to be a solo pursuit.

This is a community of people building real businesses, genuinely celebrating the wins of the people around them.

That is the room.

Applications close 19 July. Come build it with us. Link in bio.

“Confidence.”

The biggest changes often happen beyond the design process, when emerging designers gain the confidence to back themselves, take risks and step into the industry.

For …misato yukimoto the Melbourne Fashion Hub program created the space to challenge herself, engage more confidently with industry and re-examine the purpose behind her label.

That confidence is powerful. It changes how emerging designers show up, make decisions and build the future of their practice.

Because great fashion careers aren’t built on creativity alone. They’re built through reflection, mentorship, industry connection and the confidence to keep evolving.

We are seeking Victorian fashion design students and recent graduates who prioritise responsible and ethical design practices, including gender-inclusive, age-inclusive and size-inclusive design, innovative textile applications and future-focused approaches to fashion.

Eligibility:

• Victorian fashion design students at any level of study
• Recent graduates within the past five years

Applications close 19 July.

“It helped me understand who I’m designing for.”

Dinner Party

When we ask alumni what the program gave them, this is the kind of answer we get. Not theory. The thing that actually changed how they work.

Through MFH, one of our alumni gained a deeper understanding of her audience and realised she wanted to take a more commercial approach to her design practice.

That clarity has led her to continue exploring audience research — ensuring her future work is not only creatively driven, but designed with purpose, relevance and connection.

That’s the power of mentorship: gaining the insight and direction to take your next step.

We are seeking Victorian fashion design students and recent graduates who prioritise responsible and ethical design practices, including gender-inclusive, age-inclusive and size-inclusive design, as well as innovative textile applications and future-focused approaches to fashion.

Eligibility:

* Victorian fashion design students at any level of study
* Recent graduates within the past five years

Applications close 19 July.

“Mentorship…”

When we ask alumni what they valued most about the program, this is the kind of answer we hear.

For Marko Plavsic MARKO PLAVŠIĆ, the mentoring was the part of the experience that had the biggest impact — providing tailored feedback, guidance and industry insight that helped shape the way he approaches his work.

This is why we keep the program intentionally small. By working with a select group of designers, we can provide the individual attention, honest conversations and practical support needed to help each participant move their ideas forward.

We are seeking Victorian fashion design students and recent graduates who are committed to responsible and ethical design practices — including gender-inclusive, age-inclusive and size-inclusive design, innovative textile applications, and future-focused approaches to fashion.

Eligibility:

* Victorian fashion design students at any level of study
* Recent graduates within the past five years
