I realise I’ve gone a little quiet on here.
The last proper post I made was asking for help packing up my house after finding out I had to move. It all happened pretty quickly.
The plan was always to head north for June/July - I just wasn’t expecting to have no house to return to.
After you all came through with all your amazing offers of help, I packed and stored my life, hitched up the trailer and pointed myself north with -_-
Auspiciously, first night on the road happened to be a Blue Moon. A seemingly pretty fitting way to begin whatever this chapter was going to become.
These are some highlights;
🍷 Sharing wine in the artesian bore baths in Lightning Ridge.
✨ Finally committing to some dancefloor dreads, then slowly weaving them into something uniquely mine with The crystals nomads RAINBOW MAMA beautiful extensions, stones and little keepsakes collected along the way.
💍 Seizing the opportunity to acquire the jewellery side of
❖ PLATONIKS ❖
🌿 And then… finding myself renting a shop in the Kuranda Original Rainforest Market - That one has quietly been a dream of mine for years.
Somehow the “June and July road trip” has turned into June… July… August.
I’m heading back down for the Lightning Ridge Opal Festival at the end of July (and, of course, some fossicking), before making my way back to my little corner of Kuranda before Orin Aya and another season in this beautiful little rainforest town.
Right now, I’m genuinely loving having a little shop tucked away amongst the trees. I get to spend my days making jewellery, meeting wonderful people and slowly building Rapt with Joy into something bigger than I imagined.
Life has looked very different to what I expected a few months ago.
Not always easy.
But full of beautiful people, unexpected opportunities and little moments that remind me I’m exactly where I need to be.
Thank you to everyone who’s been part of this chapter so far. Whether you’ve bought a piece, shared a conversation, offered a hand, given me a hug, or simply followed along from afar; you’ve helped make this adventure what it is.
Here’s to seeing where the road leads next.
With joy,
Charlie 💚
