What are your thoughts on using AI for styling vintage furniture? I’m seeing a few AI images popping up in my Instagram feed and other platforms and it makes me wonder, what do you prefer to see? Personally, I love styling and photographing the special pieces that come through our doors so I’ll probably just keep doing that - its my opportunity to be creative and is actually one of my favourite aspects of my business. These vintage pieces are from an era where things were handmade by master craftsman, not a machine. And I kind of like continuing that handmade element with my camera and the props I’ve collected over the years.

But I’m curious to know what you would like to see. Let me know your thoughts in the comments or the poll

If I were to imagine living inside an artwork, this would be it. The Hafif House in Pomona, originally designed by Foster Rhodes Jackson, a Frank Lloyd Wright protégé. An incredible example of a mid-century home that has been tastefully updated, while staying true to the original intent of the architecture.

Original mid-century “Rondo” coffee table by TH Brown Furniture, made in Adelaide, circa 1970s. This highly sought after design features a sculptural propellor-style teak frame with circular glass top. The design has recently been reissued by TH Brown, retailing for $1,840 new.

This vintage example retains its maker’s mark underneath and presents in excellent condition with minimal wear. A few marks to the frame and scratches on glass.

Designed by Kunio Maekawa in 1942, the Maekawa House is a standout example of Japanese Modernism. Timber-clad with a gabled roof and floor-to-ceiling windows, it reflects Maekawa’s efforts to reconcile traditional Japanese architecture with the influence of Le Corbusier, whom he worked alongside in Paris before returning to Japan in 1930.

Yes to all of it... especially the bathtub in the kitchen.

A neo-baroque landmark in Newcastle — once a wine merchant, Air Force club and wedding venue — now reworked as the home of artists James Drinkwater ( ) and Lottie Consalvo ( ). Crammed with mismatched antiques, art and Persian rugs, the couple have injected the space with their own special kind of eclecticism.
