My beautiful friend Laura and her husband Jarrod are going through something no family should ever have to face. They’re hardworking, kind-hearted parents of two gorgeous girls, and they’ve found themselves caught in a distressing legal battle after a rubbish removal job went terribly wrong — all because they simply asked for clarification on an invoice.

Within 48 hours, more than 26 mattresses were illegally dumped across their driveway, blocking access to their home. Can you even imagine?! They didn’t refuse to pay — they just wanted clarity. Now, they’re fighting for justice and trying to protect everything they’ve built for their family.

They’ve started a fundraiser to help with legal costs, and any support — whether it’s donating or simply resharing their story — would mean the world. 🙏

They never thought they’d have to ask for help, but they truly need it right now.

Last week I received an email from our HR team with the WGEA (Women Gender Equality Agency) report.

I have been working in men dominated industries for many years in Manager and non-Manager roles and yes I am aware and notice the under representation of women but seeing it black on white still shocked me.

Out of 16 promotions from non- manager to manager roles only 2 were women

Out of 87 promotions overall only 25 were women

I am keen to learn more about the reasons and more importantly how can we change it?

Is it because of structural barriers,unconscious bias or maybe societal expectations?

9 months ago I went back to work full-time, a corporate job in a big company, 30% travel (domestic and international), my husband works as a FIFO worker (2 weeks away, 1 week at home) our closest family members live about 1000km away. We have 2 kids, 2 dogs, 7 chickens and a house we are renovating.

I have had countless conversations over the last few months with family, friends, colleges and the question was always the same

‚how do you do it?‘

And that’s when i started thinking…maybe I do have something that is worth sharing!

I want to use this account to share tips and tricks on how to be successful in your job while being present as a parent, how to juggle home life while progressing in your career and most importantly how not to loose yourself in the process!

No matter if your full time job is in the office or if your job is being a stay at home mum, I would love to connect and share successes to empower and support each in every possible way 🩷

I thought I was invincible, I can do whatever I set my mind to, I can easily work a full time corporate job, have a small business, look after 2 kids, 2 dogs and 6 chickens, renovate our house, clean, wash, excerise, have a social life and all while my husband works a FIFO job!

Guess what 🤷‍♀️

I was wrong 🙊

Reality has caught up with me after just over a year, turns out the day does not have enough hours to make it work even if you reduce sleep to a minimum

So something has to give.. and believe it or not apparently it’s frowned upon to give the kids up so for now it’ll have to be my little business 🥺

I have been thinking about it for weeks how I can make it work but after prioritizing and being all grown up and realistic it is just not possible at the moment and I have to put my family and my two beautiful daughters first

But this is not a goodbye, just a see you later. I will take the next 6-12 months to recover, rethink and then hopefully return with a grand plan 🤩 as I truly believe creative mindz has a spot out there in the kids educational resource world ❤️

I want to thank everybody for believing in me in the last 15months, for all the beautiful messages I have received, all these orders and words of encouragement!

Kids got birthday parties on the weekend so mum gets to spend her Friday evening putting the presents together I mean what else would I possibly do once the kids are in bed. 😜
