We know you have all been eagerly awaiting news on the next Rainbow instalment. Over the last few months we’ve been busy behind the scenes in meetings and preparing the many reports required for our site permit renewal.
While we’d love nothing more than to announce our next festival dates, the site permit renewal process has been more complex and time consuming than we’d anticipated. Quite simply our situation has significantly more hoops to jump through than most event sites and despite making good progress, we still have a way to go before we can securely lock in a festival date.
We are confident of gaining the approvals needed, we just need to take our time to ensure the best outcome for the event and the ongoing protection and preservation of our beautiful site. As we are sure you would all agree, there is something extra special about our home so as frustrating as the continued delay is for us all, it’ll be worth it when we all come together in Lexton once again.
We remain extremely optimistic about Rainbow’s future. Rainbow will happen when it is meant to, and when it does, it’ll be an experience to remember!
In the meantime, our dedicated team are busy working away at a number of projects and have a stack of announcements coming your way and have something extra special we can share with you now.
Throughout these last few years we have used the time to reflect on our journey and set an intention to stay true to the ethos that made our event so special through thriving connections, authentic expression, and limitless creativity.
As we propel into this next phase, we are thrilled to unveil our new festival name: 𝙍𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙗𝙤𝙬 𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙧𝙞𝙩 𝙁𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙖𝙡.
Over the coming months you’ll gradually see a transition to our new festival name and logo and the launch of our new website as we prepare for our next gathering.
This change is made in honour and appreciation of the Rainbow Serpent dreaming, and the many other dreaming stories bestowed upon us. We thank our Dja Dja Wurrung and Wadawurrung friends and the many other First Nations Peoples who have shared their stories and teachings with us all.
Holding strong to the values of deep connection to land and spirit that are the foundation of the festival, we embrace this time of re-creation and regeneration, in a union of cultures inspired by the Rainbow spirit as we evolve into a new era.
