A little recap of some of my outfits from my recent Greek 🇬🇷 escape… because Melbourne winter has me dreaming of sunshine all over again. ☀️💙
This trip felt different in so many ways.
For the first time in well over a decade, I found myself reaching for short dresses and skirts… and I think it may have been over 20 years since I last packed a pair of shorts. For so long I gravitated towards midi and maxi dresses, finding comfort in the flow of fabric and, if I’m honest, hiding a little too.
Losing a few kilos certainly helped, but what made the biggest difference was something far more valuable… the confidence that comes with maturity. Caring less about what others think and dressing purely for how I feel is incredibly liberating.
Another big shift has been my love of natural fibres. My suitcase was filled almost entirely with linen, cotton and silk. They’re lightweight, breathable and perfect for the Mediterranean climate. Beyond that, I genuinely love how these fabrics feel to wear. The only outfit that wasn’t a natural fibre was the green jumpsuit in the first photo—which actually turned out perfectly as Australia was playing Egypt in the World Cup that evening, so green and gold felt very fitting! 🇦🇺💚💛
Many of these looks are current or past House of Nicholetta pieces, particularly our beautiful Greek-made linens by Greek Archaic Kori, with similar (and in some cases the exact same) styles still available on our website. If there’s an outfit you’d like to know more about, feel free to send me a DM.
A few pieces were also from brands including Cue, Scanlan, Camilla, SHEIKE, Forever New & Witchery.
As for colour… I’ve always been drawn to pinks and greens, but this trip surprised me. White, sunset oranges and even black became the heroes of my wardrobe, bringing a timeless elegance to warm Mediterranean evenings.
And the shoes? I packed several pairs of sandals, yet I lived in my well-loved gold Jimmy Choos. They may have already seen many summers, but they’re still the most comfortable shoes I own—and the gold worked with almost every outfit. Sometimes your oldest favourites really are your best travel companions.
Which look was your favourite? 💕🇬🇷
