I didn’t have enough footage to talk about the bracelet I showed in the video but I wanted to talk about it here. Recently I’ve been navigating monumental grief due to an illness in the family, and recovering from something really awful that happened personally at the start of the year. I’ve been floating through life with equal amounts of sadness and joy, dipping in and out in quite intense waves.

I have so many tools that I use to recharge and one is walking, another is nature, and when I do both at the same time I always get something positive from it.

While I was in Melbourne during August I had a few sad days and on one very overwhelming afternoon I took myself for a walk. I found a big tree that had fallen over and it felt like the perfect place to sit and think. This is where I found the bracelet, it was inside a pink treasure box made by

The joy I felt was instant, the warmth I felt in my heart was strong enough to feel like the sun was shining directly on me. It was a reminder of beauty in the world, of good and kind things that people do. I get reminded of that day and the gratitude that I felt 💕

Double story: I saw a video about one of these treasure boxes on social media and then the next day took my 3 year old nephew to buy some trinkets from a local shop and then we got a little bit of treasure ✨ keep doing what you do

Based on a true story, one evening I was at Medusa Bar with Jess Nes I was using my egg bag and I looked at her and said “do you know I don’t even like eggs?” I don’t think I was even trying to be funny, but it was.

Jess introduced me to The Green Edge in Brisbane and we planned to go while I’m visiting, we took along the egg hat I made, my bag and an idea for this silly skit.

We both actually don’t eat eggs, luckily the Green Edge serve vegan versions 💚

I made friends with a silly clown, we bonded over theatrics, colourful costumes and playful creativity after I saw his band at a gig, where I was dressed in a corset made of stuffed animals. I made the corset just for this event and I offered it to the band which meant I got the pleasure of hanging out with STUPID F*CK THE SILLY CLOWN

This clown is a kind, funny, respectful, and empowering person to be around, plus all those qualities as a performer too. I was so thrilled when he offered to model my clothing and I had a lot of fun in both taking these photos and editing them in a playful way.

My friend the silly clown actually bought this shirt off me while I was taking his photos in the first set. Background one is from one of my installations a few years ago, background two is one of my paintings, the horse is from a still from a theatre production I worked on.

The beaded top the clown is wearing in photo three and four was one I made five years ago, I’ve never gotten round to photographing it til now. I made it during a pain flare up when I had chronic pain in my hip, I lay horizontal and beaded above my head and it took over 40 hours. The photos in the background were taken by Jess Nes in Tokyo, she was sitting next to me while I edited these.

The shirt in the last three photos I started making in Chiang Mai earlier this year, I finished in Melbourne in August. I took all the photos that are in the backgrounds, sunset is my favourite time of day and I made the hue really warm to compliment the colours in the shirt.

I’ve given you all these details so you know I didn’t use Ai ✨

There’s something about Byron Bay, it brings me luck every time I go. I drove down Saturday to attend Our Timeless Threads market, I had my stock and jewellery from MERKABA เมอร์คาบา set up while my friends Pink Honey performed. It was just the best day, I got to hang out with really cool people, one of them was k._.ate_ who took these photos for me 🙏🏼💕 I’m so glad she was on to this because I didn’t take a single one all day.

I did take some videos though, the chair I was sitting on was one I saved from landfill after a market in Brisbane the last time I was up. It had torn around the poles but it was so easily repairable. After I set up my stall it was the first thing I did, I’ve already posted about it, but I’ll do a tutorial soon 🪡

I’m going to do a pop up at Foxy Luu’s on October 15, and this week I’ll be brainstorming some workshops I can do at Our Timeless Threads throughout the month. I’ll be bouncing around between Glasshouse Mountains Ecolodge and Byron Bay during next month, maybe we should hang out and make art together?
