That’s a wrap! In this final MM post, I just want to thank all of you who have come along to our stalls to buy handmade things and support us and Latin artisans.
A personal extra thanks to my parents for always having my back and babysitting when it was just too much … dad came to my first ever market at 6am to help me figure out how to set up a stall, attaching poles to erect a marquee, back when it was cash only and I had a small range and zero idea how to go about selling handcrafts… a lifetime ago!
Thanks to Simon for so much… helping me build displays (well, actually building them solo, to my specs!), coming to countless festivals (remember making jam sandwiches for the kids to munch on at 7am in their little beach chairs as we set up?), LOTS of IT support, babysitting during events and trips away , and being my emotional rock during wind, rain and ‘this is too hard’ moments… to Eli too for working in my stead this year when I had to work my other job… and for doing it solo all day for a week like a champion.. you too Josh for helping where you can!
to Deedle and Dave from La Iguana Perdida in Guatemala, you wonderful and inspiring friends, for accepting me into their home year after year and making it so much more possible and pleasurable to spend time over there.. to Ombi and Alex also for putting me up in Ecauador and offering their bed for this exhausted traveller (and for the friendship from the days of the business incubator!).
And to you, my loyal customer base who have made so many positive comments over the years whilst supporting us… without you, Mundo Maya would not exist!
Merry Xmas, Felix navidad , gracias y adiós todos.
