(aka The Brooklyn Pant)

Before air conditioning, Australian men needed tailoring that could handle the heat. Lighter suiting cloths like linen were a practical choice for summer. They kept a tailored look from city offices to country towns and still let the body breathe.

The Brooklyn brings that idea back in a woven linen plaid suiting. The double-pleated front gives room and ease through the thigh, and the tapered leg keeps the shape clean down to the hem. From a distance the glen plaid reads neat. Up close, it has more going on.

Linen is naturally breathable and cool against the skin. It dries quickly and softens every time you wear it. It will crease as you wear it, which is part of the character.

NEW DROP 🚨 The Linen Houndstooth Pleated Pant

Houndstooth started as a woven wool check in 19th-century Scotland. Over the next century it moved into tailoring around the world. In a climate like Australia's, the challenge was always keeping the look of tailoring without the weight.

The Brooklyn in houndstooth is cut from a linen and cotton suiting. It keeps the same pleated silhouette as the plaid version, with room through the thigh and a taper to the ankle. The pattern gives it a different personality. It's more graphic and more deliberate. At this scale, the black and white check reads almost as texture from a distance, and you only see the pattern up close.

Linen keeps it breathable and cool against the skin. Cotton softens the feel and takes the edge off linen's natural creasing.

Based off the OG 107s of the US-Military. The fatigue pant has one of the most direct lineages in workwear — designed to be worn hard, washed often, and replaced when done. The large patch pockets were purely functional: room for a field manual, a ration pack, whatever needed carrying. Over time the silhouette moved off base and into civvie street, where the utility stayed but the urgency didn't.⁠
