The Little Petals Patches Quilt

Introducing the ‘Little Petals Patches Quilt’.

This pattern is perfect for all types of appliqué methods, machine, raw edge and needle turn. This pattern has the instructions for all three including the quick modern ‘faux’ appliqué method using interfacing to secure the appliqué pieces and then sewn into place by machine.

This quilt is a perfect opportunity to make use of cherished fabric scraps. Let your favourite fabrics, whether they’re vibrant batiks or soothing solids, find a harmonious place in this quilt, creating a mosaic of colour and texture that tells a unique story.

The petal block and the nine patch block are the perfect combination for creating a flowering trellis quilt.

The pattern comes in four sizes: See above and refer to the provided cutting chart for precise measurements, ensuring accurate and beautiful results every time.
Sewing the appliqué onto the smaller background blocks before piecing is game-changing, it makes the task of sewing down the flowers a breeze.

Disappointing news on the Ruby front, I took her back to the hospital yesterday for her eight week X-rays and unfortunately her bones haven’t mended.⁣

That was not an outcome I thought was even possible, has this happened to anybody else’s dog?⁣

We are giving it another six weeks and then she may need bone grafts……😫⁣

Honestly…..🤷‍♀️

Every day I do a little bit more of this quilt, you can see it taking shape on the design wall.⁣

Making these little petals is so relaxing, I can put on an audio book and just enjoy some time out. I love music but audio books have taken over my life.⁣

I haven’t looked forward to custom quilting for ages but I cannot wait to get this finished quilt on the longarm. ⁣

Now back to my audio books and some sewing.⁣

I was designing a new quilt pattern for the first time in ages, it was a curved pieced pattern, I absolutely loved it…..but then life got complicated and I had to put it aside. ⁣

I haven’t been able to pick it back up. I didn’t have the brain capacity to immerse myself back into it again but I knew I needed to start sewing again.⁣

I decided to go with one of my really simple but rewarding patterns, The Little Petals Quilt. ⁣

It’s simple and yet a great way to get back into playing with fabric.⁣

My creative brain kicked in and I started designing a new quilt with these little petals, I am excited to see how this one is going to play out. ⁣

Sewing and creating really is good for the soul. ❤️⁣

Little Petals on a vine.⁣

Not sure where this is heading but I’m unshowered with fabric everywhere, having the time of my life. 😂 ⁣

I need to stop, have a shower, take Winston for a walk and answer some emails ……. it’s going to be hard to drag myself away. ⁣

A little bit of trimming and turning is on the agenda for tonight.⁣

The Primal of Blood and Bone dropped on audible today, so I’ll have lots to keep me occupied while I settle in and have a listen. ⁣

I was going to make another Little Petals quilt with all of this Alison Glass deliciousness but I have had an idea for a new quilt pattern…..mmmmm let’s see what comes to fruition. ⁣
