I’m so lucky because as part of my job I get to use the new BERNINA L660 overlocker. The amount of hours I’ve wasted in my life threading lower loopers. This has Air Threading and a built in needle threader. Love it! ❤️

Hey everyone!
As you know (or maybe not) I’m working full time for Bernina now, but on my days off (like today) I’m still working on my little pdf pattern business because I love it!

I thought I’d show off my Solea Dress pattern today. She has a wonderful waterfall ruffle hem, optional self fabric belt and inseam pockets! 🙌 Designed and tested by a real human (me) 😊

The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Retail Sales Assistant to join our team. This role involves helping customers choose sewing machines, accessories, fabrics, and supplies while providing exceptional service and product knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist customers with sewing machine and accessory sales
- Demonstrate products and explain features and benefits
- Process sales and maintain accurate transactions
- Replenish stock and maintain attractive product displays
- Answer customer enquiries in person, by phone, and online
- Support workshop bookings and general store operations

About You

- Friendly, approachable, and confident working with customers
- Strong communication and sales skills
- Interest in sewing, quilting, embroidery, or crafting (preferred but not essential)

- Previous retail or customer service experience is highly regarded

Visited a tienda (shop) with Bernina sewing machines and met Cristina from JL Quilts in Madrid.
She was so lovely suffering my spanglish and we chatted about how I work for Bernina Australia and her Brother works for Bernina in the US. Happy I made the effort to find them and learn about the shop’s family roots. 😃 🧵

I went to see Spain’s famous flamenco dancer Sara Baras at Teatre Gran Via in Madrid with my partner, his parents, my brother and his partner, and our friend during the San Isidro weekend 🕊️🇪🇸. It was absolutely SPECTACULAR! The music and choreography were incredible.
I wore a dress I made from a Vintage Vogue pattern with a mantón I bought here in Madrid last time I was here, and of course a flower in my hair given to me by Javier’s madre for the festival. It fit right in, and I loved it 💃.
As I’m writing this, I’ve just been handed red w**e with olives and anchovies. How am I ever going to go back to normal life?!

I will never hand sew another button on ever again! I’ve always been a little hesitant sewing buttons on the machine but my Bernina 570QE sews them on perfectly and it was so easy.

Loving my new position as Area Manager !
Getting to visit and get to know some lovely dealers and play on some seriously impressive sewing machines. Today I practiced a buttonhole on the B990. The ability to adjust the inside width for different fabric weights and measure the button right on the screen is so cool! 😎 Love it!

Friday nights intimate closing soirée at my studio was really special and the support from some supportive friends was appreciated. 🤗 Huge thanks to everyone who attended and to Javier for helping me move everything in just 2 days! 🚚💨

It marks the end of an era and my studio is officially closed!

I’ll miss it, but I’m excited about my new chapter at Bernina, I’m loving it so far. I’ll still be designing and selling patterns online in my spare time 😜 so updates might be a bit slower until I find my groove. Stay tuned!
