We are always needing mens clothes, medium mens underwear, cleaning products and non perishable foods especially noodles in foam cups, up and go, cans of soft drink, small pull ring cans of corn and tuna. We are currently in need of the following! 26/02/23

Kids new undies 2-3 /3-4/ 4-6 /6-8 in boys and girls. Kids clothes...sizes 1-16

Well here are the needs for the night to add to hampers, door prizes etc

Boxed chocolates...half price at woolsworth this week. Ends Tuesday

T2 tea( variety of loose leaves) can get at supermarket.

Gillette shaving cream

Mens/ladies perfumes...half price at chemist warehouse at the moment.

Gift vouchers needing $25-$50 ones
Bunnings
Her/him
Movie vouchers etc

Alcohol needed for large hampers...wine, whiskey,Vodka the list of types is endless.
You may want to raid your cupboards and others may wish to join you. Thats amazing too.

You may have gifts that you haven't used thats ok to pass to us also.

YOU MAY KNOW OF A RESTAURANT, MOTEL OR BUSINESSES THAT WOULD LIKE TO CONTRIBUTE
PLEASE SUGGEST US.

WE NEED EVERYTHING BEFORE THE END OF JUNE....YOU NEVER KNOW ITS THE END OF THE FINANCIAL YEAR PEOPLE MAY WANT TO HELP.

Thank you to Ping and family for organising such a wonderful donation. Ordering all online and making their home a drop off place for people they know, for items that we needed new and secondhand.

It wouldn't of been possible without the caring hearts from all involved.

Domestic Violence in any form is so sad to see.
Over the years we have seen it all.

Women escaping with just a bag for her and the children, after that hit she had taken for years. Just landed on her child.

Children hiding in toy boxes and wont come out, so scared of the reality in their home.

Covering wounds on small bodies that a mother decided to use as the ash tray and put out yet again, another cigarette.

Going into homes with their so called loved one, sitting in corners with hands covering their head waiting for the next punch.

ONE THING PEOPLE MUST REALISE...
YES....
MOSTLY IT HAPPENS TO WOMAN AND CHILDREN.
BUT PLEASE KNOW...

MEN ....WE HAVE ON OUR LIST TOO.
People say no way..how??
We can tell you stories of woman doing exactly the same as the male abuser. But due to society believing it could only happen to woman.

They take that bottle thrown at their head.
The plate that has been broken in half ready to be used as a knife and been held at his neck.
Wont go to work today as that bruise is so big after getting pushed down those stairs when not expecting it.

They are ashamed they weren't tough enough to walk away from the one they loved.

Many tell us..
How can I tell my mate or family I am getting abused..They would laugh or say seriously easy just walk away.
Keeping everything inside and stay hoping she will get help and change.

Physical violence is noticeable it can only be hidden for so long..Someone will see....one day.

BUT

Emotional, financial and every other forms of abuse...no one can see. Its like being broken and battered on the inside.
Taking away ones confidence, one day at a time.

Years of getting belittled and screamed at.
Cards declined at shops after filling up that trolley of groceries...as they didnt do as the abuser wanted that morning.
Plates thrown at walls, glasses smashed.
Been told again and again you couldnt live without them...then they really believe they cant.
Day after day been told your family dont love you, friends dont really like you.
So they isolate from everyone.
Having them exactly where the abuser wants them.
ALONE AND SCARED TO LEAVE.

Please keep an eye on that family member or friend that you used to see alot. But gone quiet unexpectly.
Seems to have lost their always smile.

No matter which abuse they are coping with.. Remember...they are good at hiding things especially,the pain.
THEY HAD TO....TO SURVIVE

There maybe something going on behind closed doors. Keep your ear on that door.
You maybe the only one listening.

We cannot Thank everyone enough for another amazing Christmas Lunch.
Its a huge day to get organised, with lots of people needed to make such a day happen.

We dont want to miss anyone....so we decided to say....
THANKYOU TO ALL YOU SPECIAL PEOPLE OUT THERE FOR MAKING THIS POSSIBLE FOR 250 people to not be alone on Christmas Day.

Without Sandown Greyhounds Entertainment providing us with the premises for the day. it wouldn't have happened. Thank you!!!!!
