Have you ever wondered how our wooden puzzles are actually made?

Before the colour, the characters and the final finishing touches, each Stellavan & Papa puzzle begins with FSC-certified beechwood and goes through a detailed production process to become the finished puzzle you see today.

Open-ended toys get messier looking, but that’s usually a sign they’re actually being used, not just displayed.

Does a kid come back to it on day 10, not just day 1?
•
Mixed-piece play (puzzle + blocks together) is the best sign our toy’s are being played the way it’s meant to.
•

Pull it apart, it’s a puzzle.
Stack it differently, it’s a building set.
Leave it be, it’s something you’re genuinely happy to see on a shelf.
•
The trick with multi-use toys is the transitions have to be genuinely easy — if a kid needs help every time, it stops being ‘open-ended’ and starts being a chore.
•
Ours was designed so a 3-year-old can flip between puzzle and blocks without an adult stepping in.
•
Fun fact: the ‘decor’ phase is actually the most requested by parents, not kids. They like having something on the shelf that doesn’t look like a toy.
