Our PG version of our Video from last nights Christmas Boat Light Parade.
We all had a great time, thank you to The Hass Family/Eldorado Crew for having us. We had a few lovely invitations to watch/be in the parade & knew we wanted to keep up our long family tradition even though we knew it would be hard without our Captain. We know he would want us to continue on his legacy, traditions & celebrate life with loved ones ! I’m pretty sure the Captain was there with us all in Spirit. 🎅🏼🚤

One of these days I promise to bring happy news but unfortunately it’s not today. We had the very difficult task of saying goodbye to our beautiful Keelie Girl.

She had a lovely morning, walking at La Balsa, enjoyed her drive with the window down, hair blowing in the breeze & said goodbyes to some family. Then passed with Joel, Nonnie & I surrounding her in love. One of the hardest, difficult decisions I’ve had to make but was the right one.

She’s crossed the rainbow to be back with the Captain & I’m sure he kept the best skipper seat free for his favourite salty sea dog.

Thank you my darling girl for being there for me/us for the last 16years. You were the most loyal, smartest, affectionate, caring dog. My accountability partner, Joel’s Nanny, Guardian, Protector & our favourite deck hand. We love you to infinity & beyond. So glad you got to meet Buzz & teach him some of the ropes. He’s got big paws to fill, but no one will ever replace you my darling girl. You will always hold such a special place in my heart & I’m a bit jealous that Robert gets to have you up there with him ! I also know Poppa Leo & Dashy Max will be so happy to be reunited with you.

Goodbye my beautiful brown eyed girl, give Robert a big wet kiss for me !!😘🥹

Just wanted to say a special thank you to two lovely ladies that made the process of saying goodbye to our beautiful girl Keelie a little easier & special. They both took so much care & respect for not only Keelie but so much kindness & compassion for us as well.

We love you to infinity & beyond ! ♾️
You are the pawfect fit into our family bringing more love, laughter, & happiness. Plus lots of cuddles that are needed. The perfect best friend for Joel. Born 31st August.

We are so very grateful to Family Tree Oodles Georgia, Chris, Felix & Family for bringing Buzz into our lives. If you too need a Cavoodle we highly recommend choosing to become part of the Family Tree Oddles !

In all honesty Buzz chose us.
It’s a bit of a story with a bit of woo woo thrown in but that’s how we know he’s the perfect edition to our family. Joel had decided he needed to even out the household by getting a boy dog/bestfriend. Nonnie was all for it but I, Jules was a little hesitant as know what a huge commitment it is & Robert had always said we wouldn’t be getting another dog after Keelie due to wanting to have the flexibility of going on more boating/fishing adventures. Unfortunately things have changed in that department so we think the Captain would be ok with our decision to invite in a new family member. ✅

So the woo woo, well the night of Robert’s passing Joel mentioned to me that perhaps Dad would send us a strange bird. We have often thought over the years since Poppa passed that he shows us signs he’s still around with kookaburras. Our first visit to the farm to see Hazel’s beautiful Hive of Puppies, With names inspired by the beauty & wonders of a beehive. As we went to turn into the road up to farm we had to give way to the most beautiful male peacock. 🦚 So we think that was Dads way of showing Joel a strange bird & letting us know we were on the right path. Then when a certain little black puppy kept crawling into Joel’s lap we knew he was the one & then Georgia said “ I thought you would choose Buzz.

We had already decided we were sticking to boat names like Keelie so liked Rudder Sterny Smith ( also Robert’s Initials ) but when I heard his name was Buzz I knew it was another sneaky sign as I quoted Buzz Lightyear in my wedding vows. Plus Buzz came when we called Buzz & we thinks it’s perfect. But when he’s in trouble we will use his full name - Buzz Rudder Sterny Smith ! 🐾

What a game, so glad we went to Suncorp to watch it live & to cheer loud & proud as Dad aka Robert would have wanted us too. Joel’s definitely a chip off the old block & made my ears ring & was a little horse himself after tonight’s game. We even sung Sweet Caroline twice & was praying to Smithy the footy god to bring us luck at half time as nearly thought the Panther’s had us. I managed to get through the game strong but must admit I released a few tears after the win. Especially when they then played brown eyed girl which I used to change the words to “boy” & sing to both Hubby & Son as both have gorgeous brown eyes unlike my blue ones. Let’s go Broncos! Now just to beat the Storm !!! 🎉👏🐴🙌🎊
