Widgee Girl was born at Wolvi and lived amongst the tall gum trees in the Australian bush. She, with her blonde hair and blue eyes, ran wild and free amongst the pine trees and the native flora and fauna of the Australian bush with its subtle green and brown tones. She ran through the under growth in the forestry where the pine trees grew tall and seemed to touch the sky, towering way above her. S
he walked tentatively through the forestry’s undergrowth, walking ever so slow near the flowing creek so as to get a glimpse of the wild Australian animals when they came to drink before dusk. In the creeks she caught wild yabbies, tadpoles and jumped with fright when an unexpected snake came into view or crossed her path. Due to a fire which destroyed our home and my parents lost everything in this fire we moved from Wolvi to Glastonbury
where I began my life living in the Widgee State Forestry. The Widgee Girl label has been a long time coming and as you can see, she is vibrant and colourful and has her own style. A garment that can be dressed up or dressed down but will always look stunning as good quality clothing should do. Widgee Girl now lives at Moffat Beach, Queensland Australia. Welcome to MOFFAT MEE by Widgee Girl. My name is Wendy. I have had a long career in the private and Government sectors and retired in 2016. During my early working life, I moved from Gympie to Brisbane and trained as a seamstress and was employed by Noreta Designs in Brisbane city. I have always enjoyed sewing and over the years have made many clothes, or altered clothes for family, friends and others who were referred to me. The name ‘Moffat Mee by Widgee Girl’ has come about by my parents moving from Wolvi, Queensland to Glastonbury where we lived at Widgee in Queensland Australia.
