If you’re starting to think about your fertility, you might be wondering what comes first.

At Create Fertility, we begin by understanding what’s happening in your body. Before we talk about IVF or treatment options, we look at your hormone levels, your cycle and your medical history. This helps build a clear picture of your fertility and what may be affecting your chances of conceiving.

In some cases, there is a specific and treatable cause. For some people, that may mean a minimally invasive fertility procedure that can improve the chance of natural conception. This can be relevant for those who have been told IVF is the next step, but want to understand if other options exist.

Our team has strong experience in fertility surgery, alongside a collaborative approach to care. Each recommendation is based on what we find and what makes sense for you.

You don’t need to decide on treatment straight away. Understanding your fertility is often the first step 😊

You may have heard that frozen embryo transfers are ‘better’ than fresh transfers, but the reality is more nuanced than that.

For some patients, a frozen embryo transfer may offer advantages. For others, a fresh transfer can be the right option and may help shorten the time to pregnancy.

Like most things in fertility care, the best approach depends on your individual circumstances, treatment plan and medical considerations.

Sometimes we need to freeze embryos for medical reasons, to allow for genetic testing, or to optimise the timing of transfer with your cycle.

There isn’t one universal answer, which is why personalised fertility care matters. The best next step? Have a conversation with your fertility specialist about the pros and cons of each approach for you.

Let us know if you have any further questions about frozen embryo transfers 🫶🏼

PCOS has a new name: PMOS (Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome) 💫 The condition itself hasn’t changed, but the name better reflects the full picture.

At Create Fertility, PMOS is one of the most common conditions we see. While many people associate it with irregular periods, it can also involve insulin resistance, metabolic health and hormone regulation, all of which can impact fertility.

This shift matters because it encourages earlier diagnosis, broader support and a more complete approach to treatment. For some people, that may mean understanding their fertility earlier. For others, it may mean improving fertility outcomes by addressing the wider factors involved in PMOS.

Fertility care is rarely one-size-fits-all. Understanding the whole condition helps us create more individualised treatment pathways and better long-term care 💕

Nat and Brianna are two of our team of fertility nurses behind countless early mornings, check-in calls, happy tears, hard conversations, medication questions and just-wanted-to-make-sure-this-is-normal messages 💕

Our fertility nurses are such a big part of the patient experience at Create Fertility, and today we’re celebrating them for International Nurses Day.

Thank you for the care, reassurance and calm you bring to every step of the journey✨

Mother’s Day can feel really hard when you’re going through fertility treatment.

If tomorrow feels like a lot, it’s okay to take a break from social media or sit out plans that don’t feel good for you right now.

You don’t have to force yourself to be okay with the day just to appear strong. A lot of people going through what you’re going through feel this way around days like Mother’s Day, even if they don’t talk about it openly.

Do what feels best for you tomorrow. That’s enough 🫶

Infertility comes up more often than people think. Roughly 1 in 6 Australian couples experience it at some point.

So it tends to sit closer to home than we expect. Sometimes it’s your own situation. Sometimes it’s someone you know well. What’s interesting is how quietly it’s still held. Even now, a lot of people go through it without saying much.

That silence can make things feel more isolating than they need to be. When the conversation opens up, something shifts. It becomes easier to understand what’s actually involved, and easier for people to feel less alone in it.

You don’t need to be an expert to be part of that. Just being willing to talk about it helps 😌

Unfortunately, your ovaries don’t leave you notes 📌

Egg numbers decline quietly over time. There’s no built-in alarm to tell you when they’re running low. For most women, changes only become noticeable much later, when hormone patterns start to shift (like in perimenopause). Until then, it’s often a silent process.

That’s why if you’re thinking about fertility timing or options like egg freezing, blood tests such as AMH and a pelvic ultrasound to evaluate the ovaries and follicle count can offer insight your body don’t always physically signal.

What does ~trying~ actually mean when it comes to trying to conceive?

For many people, it starts with stopping contraception. From there, ~trying~ usually means having s*x regularly during the fertile window each month. This is the time in your cycle when pregnancy is most likely 🌱

If you’ve heard the 12 month guideline, it’s based on this pattern happening consistently over time. Around 3 to 4 times during the fertile window each cycle.

That said, real life doesn’t always follow a pattern. Some months feel easier than others. Timing, stress, health and schedules can all play a part.

Keeping track of your cycle and when you’re trying can help build a clearer picture over time. It also means that if you do decide to speak with a fertility specialist, we can understand what’s been happening and what to look at next.

You don’t need to get everything exactly right. Understanding your cycle is a useful place to start 🤍

A lot of people don’t think about s***m health until the moment it matters. That’s normal.

The good news? S***m regenerates every ~70 days, which means lifestyle changes can make a difference relatively quickly ✨

Some simple, achievable places to start:

→ cutting back on smoking and alcohol :
→ prioritising regular sleep
→ managing stress where possible
→ moving your body consistently (not perfectly)
→ eating a balanced diet and staying well hydrated

Remember, it takes two to tango, and information helps everyone move toward the same goal!
