For some of you who don’t know, I volunteer at a historic home in Black Rock. The house is 168yrs old and open to the public the first Sunday of each month for costumed guided tours 1-4pm.
The house is owned by the Bayside city council but the ‘Friends’ group, which I’m part of care for the house and open it for the community each month and for private functions during the week.
We decided to create a bit of fun at Halloween for the locals, who doesn’t want to visit a real haunted house at Halloween!
I’m happy to say seven years on and many thousands of visitor’s later we’re still scaring the daylights out of people either with our Scary Mary in the cellar, Mr Baker the undertaker in the cemetery or if you dare, take a walk down Death Alley that leads you into the Witches in the Stables.
There’s a little something for everyone and this year we’ll have a game of Skull Skittles on the front verandah.
I’m sharing this here as some of you have asked why I have all these Halloween costumes in the studio, now you know why.
Feel free to bring the kids and grandkids for a bit of Halloween fun.
We’ll also be hosting our Christmas Carols on Wednesday 4th Dec 6-8.30pm.
