In the "what's in it for me?" world full of people scrolling past, be a Bec. ❤️
Seriously. What an absolutely bloody lovely human.
Bec’s Unhinged Reviews did this for us today. She wasn’t paid. There was no deal, no collab, no “what do I get out of it?” She simply loves our shop, wanted to support a local business and decided to tell 80,000 people about us because it was a nice thing to do.
That’s it.
And I don’t think people always realise how much something like this means to a little business like ours.
We’ve been here for 13 years, building our weird little world in Mornington, and having someone turn around and say, “I love what you’ve made and I want other people to know about it” honestly means the bloody world.
Bec, you’re a good egg.
Thank you for supporting the little guys simply because you wanted to.
In a world where kindness so often comes with strings attached, be a Bec. Thank you so much darling xo 🖤
PS Check out the comments to see her wedding photos! See, she really does love our shop! :D
Bec’s unhinged small business shout out:
📚✨ LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS – MORNINGTON
Alright parents, Book Week is coming up next week and if you’re anything like me, this is generally the point where you realise Book Week is coming up next week. 😂
So before we all start panic ordering a costume off the internet and praying something vaguely resembling the picture turns up before the child has graduated primary school, can I point you towards one of the most bloody magical little businesses we have right here in Mornington.
Little Shop of Horrors Costumery & Pop-Culture Emporium
I have loved this place for YEARS. I loved it so much I literally had some of my wedding photos taken out the front of it in 2020, so that probably tells you everything you need to know about me. 😂
It’s run by sisters Alicia and Louise and honestly, walking through the doors is like walking into another world. They’ve created this completely bonkers, magical little universe filled with costumes, wigs, characters, props and basically everything your little Book Week heart could possibly need. They have an entire Book Week range, kids costumes and storybook characters, so if your child has announced at the eleventh hour that they absolutely MUST go as something incredibly specific, this is where I’d be heading.
This is exactly why I love giving local businesses a shout out.
Yes, you can order things from giant companies on the internet. But you can also walk into a locally owned Mornington business, actually speak to a human being, get some help finding what you need and know that the money you’re spending means something to the people standing behind that counter.
So for my fellow slightly-disorganised Book Week parents around Mornington and the Peninsula, GO LOCAL FIRST. You might just save yourself from making a cardboard costume at 10:47pm the night before.

Support the little guys. Especially when the little guys have an entire shop full of absolute magic. ❤️
