I’ve been pretty quiet on here this year.
Not because nothing was happening — but because everything was.
At the end of last year, I stepped away from a chapter that had been my life for over 30 years. Bridal, making, fittings, shop life — all of it. I loved it, and I still miss parts of it.
I honestly thought retirement might be a bit calmer. Maybe some relief teaching, a slower pace, a little breathing space.
Instead… I somehow ended up teaching dance, drama and music, spending my days with 763 brilliant kids, and running dance troupes. So much for slowing down.
Covering a colleague on maternity leave pulled me straight back into the performing arts — and I didn’t realise how much I’d missed it until I was right back in the middle of it. The energy, the creativity, the joy. The kids gave me more energy than I gave them (which is saying something).
I didn’t post much because I was learning as I went and trying to keep up. There were big changes, a few health wobbles, and a good reminder that looking after yourself actually matters.
With my own kids now grown, my energy’s landed somewhere new — teaching, creating, mentoring, and sharing what I’ve learned along the way.
So this is a bit of a reset.
A quiet thanks to 2025 for shaking things up.
And a hello to 2026.
I’ll be sharing more again — the creative bits, the busy bits, and the real bits. 🤍
Wishing you all a wonderful New Year’s Eve ❤️
