The Merchant’s Chest pre order is now: Open
-
A three tier offering of special teas sourced on our coming journey through China, Taiwan, and South Korea. Returning to old mountains and wandering into new ones.
From Yunnan forests to hidden Taiwanese peaks, we’ll be searching for strange teas, fresh season harvests, aged treasures, and quiet hidden gems.
We have old friends and new to see, drink tea with and tea trees to sit under.

This is a way to support the journey and share in what we find along the way, getting your hands in the merchants chest.

Crafting and collaboration
Teaware is a balance between two different and both very important aspects.
Function and form.
The later is often preferred and function put to the side. As you sit longer with tea you will notice that function has more of a place in a tea practice.
Functional pots appear more beautiful when you know it brews better tea.

These teapots are made with that in mind, the dedicated hands of crafting them to best brew, pour and enjoy tea.
This makes them all the more beautiful.

New side handle teapots
-
A long time coming, and only the beginning of this evolving range of teaware. Side handles that bring together multiple techniques with a strong sense of creativity.

A collaboration between teapot bodies crafted by Robin at , and antlers and expertise sourced from which we then carved and attached ourselves.

Elegant forms and deer antler handles come together beautifully, creating a balance of clean lines and raw edges. Made for sharing tea with friends.

Available now on our website alongside our wider teaware collection

Chen pi, Shou Puer ( Pu-erh)
-
Plucked , rolled and fermented in 2018 in the lincang area from Xilin mountain. Dried then stored in Mandarin skins. Wrapped and let sit.
All under the watchful hands and eyes of tea master Chan and Lui. Lui is one of our teachers, her humble hands and mother like love comes through the tea. We hope to visit her again this year

Chen pi translates to dried peel, often from citrus and in this case Mandarin.
Each is one Mandarin full of shou Puer.
Perfect for a fresh cutting citrus aroma and deep fermented shou Puer flavour.
For those searching for a darker brew and furthering the tea journey.

Only available in store as stocks are limited

Tea Sourcing Journey
-
Returning to China and neighbouring regions is our aim later this year, to walk the mountains, sit with old tea friends, and meet new ones.
Our dear friend in Yunnan, Lucy, has already sent through the first flush from the mountains, along with an aged white. Fresh, vibrant, and on the way to us now, arriving before we leave. These delicious leaves will be on sale to help fund our journey.
Another way to support this journey is through our pre order offering.
A way to access special teas we find along the way and to back the travels that bring them here. This will be access to the Merchant’s Chest.
There will only be a small number of pre sales available, so jump in and help out. However, it is somewhat of a secret, so to begin with it will be hard to find.
Keep an eye on stories and sneaky links.
This is your searching journey. Find the pre order link.
Your sourcing journey begins now.
