Today is National Tailors Day.
A day to celebrate the people behind the craft and the generations of knowledge, skill and workmanship that keep tailoring alive.
At Rundle Tailoring, tailoring has been part of our story for more than 118 years. Across generations, we have been fortunate to work alongside talented cutters, tailors, machinists, pressers and finishers who have dedicated their careers to their craft.
Our history was built by the people who worked in our factory, which at its peak employed hundreds of local women and became one of Australia’s largest tailoring manufacturers. Many of those skills, techniques and traditions remain part of our business today, with several team members having dedicated decades of service to the industry. Today, they continue to mentor and train newer members of our team, ensuring the knowledge and craftsmanship developed over generations is carried forward into the future.
Tailoring is about more than making garments. It is about preserving a craft, passing on knowledge and taking pride in creating something with care, precision and purpose.
Today, we celebrate the people behind the craft, past and present, and thank them for the contribution they have made to our business, our industry and our community.
