Of skipping the understitching! When sewing a lined garment you may notice your necklines and armholes twist and fold over. This is because you’ve skipped the most important stitch that keeps curves looking crisp and flat. And it’s called understitching! Typically understitching happens after either reducing the bulk in curves, or clipping curved seams so they sit smoother. Understitching requires laying the seams so they sit flat towards the inside of the garment, and topstitching the lining of the garment, not the outside of the garment.

The difference between clipping into the seam allowance of a tight curve, and trimming the seam allowance of a tight curve. On the clipped curved edge, you can see its pointy, whilst the trimmed seam allowance is smooth and curved! Something so simple makes the world of difference
