They’re back! 🎉

Captain Robbo un**es are finally back in stock.

Made from our studio offcuts, they’re one of our favourite ways to use our beautiful fabrics, they are too good to waste.

We’ve listed four favourite print combinations online, each with the same print front and back. We’ve also updated the cut slightly. The new version has pink binding (the old has mauve), a fuller fit, and even more comfort.

If you can visit our Northcote store, you’ll find even more prints in store, plus a few merino versions not yet photographed. Send us a message if you’d like to know what’s available.

It’s lovely to have them back. 💛

Formally introducing these charcoal merino Adventure Pants, printed with our rust-toned lichen design inspired by the extraordinary landscape of the Bay of Fires in Tasmania. That magical meeting of dark rocks, glowing orange lichen, pale sky, and impossibly aqua water feels almost too beautiful to be real. A reminder that nature is often at its best when it is bold with colour.

It is hard not to be endlessly inspired by Tasmania. I have been sailing back and forth across Bass Strait for the past 15 years for the Deloraine Craft Fair, and every trip leaves another mark somewhere in the work. I am already looking forward to returning again this coming October.

Printed on our lightweight merino blend in deep charcoal with soft warmth and comfortable stretch for the colder months ahead.

This print is perhaps one of the most asked-after designs we have made to date.

Created from a 1955 sailing chart of Western Port Bay, it carries all the old creases, pencil marks, annotations, and signs of use that make it feel less like a print and more like a fragment from another world. There is something about those weathered markings that feels a lot like wisdom. Evidence of hands, journeys, decisions, and time passing across the paper.

This has been reworked by Katy from the original map into an abstracted repeating print, allowing coastlines, navigational markings, and pencil notes to drift across soft linen like pieces of maritime memory.

The Western Port Map (in a Linen Shirt) is finally online after a very long journey to get there, and I could not be happier with how it has come to life.

Gosh, so much to share! These Velvet Cocoon Coats are quickly leaving the building and there are only these 3 left from our shoot just last week. I’m happy simply to be able to share them while they are here, knowing they’ll likely be snapped up quickly and these photographs will quietly disappear from our site with them. So enjoy them here on Instagram, and apologies in advance if you are reading this too late!

They are truly some of the most special winter pieces we have had in the studio for a long time. Oversized, richly embroidered cotton velvet coats with the feeling of wearable heirlooms, somewhere between winter armour and a very beautiful hug. Heavy enough to feel protective, soft enough to disappear into.

Each one is entirely hand worked and lined in cotton, with dramatic suzani embroidery catching the light across the velvet surface. No two are the same.

Available now in Dusty Rose, Midnight, and Obsidian.

Fluoro Peonies 🌿⚡️

These began life as an almost offensively bright fluorescent yellow cotton, originally sourced from workwear fabric. We loved the energy of the colour, but wanted to push it somewhere softer, stranger, and more wearable.

Each pair went through multiple stages of hand printing and spray dyeing in the studio, with every leg individually worked to create the final layered olive tones and textured surface. The peonies slowly emerged back through the colour like ghosts beneath the fabric. These are now online, and I uploaded a few new designs last night. Checkemout!

One of the most labour-intensive pairs of Adventure Pants we have ever made, and absolutely worth the adventure.

You may have seen our Flower Market Dress popping up on stories lately, and I’m so happy to share that they are now live on our new website.

This is a dress shape we have been refining and adjusting for quite some time, and I finally feel really happy with where it has landed.

I handpicked the combinations of colours and prints while hunting through the shelves of one of the textile houses in Jaipur earlier this year. One became the deep Indigo Flower Market Dress, while the other evolved into the softer Carnation version in earthy pinks, yellow, and taupe.

This is also the first time I have worked with existing block prints in Jaipur, almost as a kind of study before developing our own print designs there next year. It was such a joy learning through colour, scale, layering, and pattern combinations in this way.

They remind me so much of that incredible time in Rajasthan, and are just one of a handful of new styles we are slowly bringing into the world. More are on their way. Good things take time 🌿

Hand block printed using natural earth and flower pigments.

And yes, the new website is finally up and running. It may look much the same for now, but we are hoping it will be a far more user-friendly experience, and much easier for us to keep growing and updating into the future. Hooray!!!

Our dressing gowns arrived from Jaipur this week and I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out.

I was so excited to discover these fabrics amongst a real treasure trove of prints back in Feb when I was there. The velvet and lining are 100% cotton, and the art nouveau inspired floral velvet pairs so nice with a playful sulphur crested cockatoo print lining. We also made a small run of matching pillow cases from the velvets.

The sleeves have a straight kimono cut for a little extra drama and ease, perfect for slow mornings, cosy evenings, and the shift into the colder months ahead.

With Mother’s Day this weekend, they also feel like a lovely gift. Something soft and comforting, whether for someone you love or for yourself, as a quiet gesture of care during a time that can hold many different feelings. ✨

They are not quite on the website yet while we finish photographing them properly, but send us a message if you would like to see the available colours and we can help from the shop in the meantime.

Peace, in Arabic, English and Hebrew.

It feels important to keep saying it 🕊️

This will be the graphic for our next edition of cotton t-shirts in sky blue, coming soon.

After a long pause, these are finally on their way back.

For around 8 years, our un**es were made in collaboration with a small local maker. When she became too unwell to continue, it left a real gap, not just in production but in the rhythm of how these were made. It has taken time to find a new path forward.

We have reworked the pattern from scratch.
They are slightly fuller through the body, which feels like a good thing, with a finer binding around the edges. Still made from our cotton and merino offcuts, still printed in-house, still part of that ongoing effort to use what we have well.

They are sampled, printed, and ready. We are just waiting on our new machinist to return from holidays so we can begin again 😅

About three weeks away, all going to plan.
And yes, always a bit of a journey making things here in Australia. But after many, many requests, these will be back online before you know it.

There are parts of this work that no one really sees.

Now that all our merino t-shirts are printed and made, I’ve been spending quiet moments in the studio going through the offcuts I ask my maker to save for me.

Small bundles, but when you really think about it, every piece started on the back of a sheep, most likely in Australia, where much of the world’s fine merino wool is grown.

Grown, shorn, sent overseas, processed, spun into yarn, shipped again, knitted into fabric, dyed here in Melbourne, then laid out and cut into garments.

And this is what’s left.

A table of soft, irregular fragments. Textile waste, technically, but it doesn’t feel like waste when you hold it.

There’s enough here to become something.

We’re turning these into modular scarf pieces and neck snoods. The stretch isn’t quite right for the un**es, but it’s perfect for this.

Something simple, adaptable, made slowly from what would otherwise be discarded.

Made in-house. And it’s a bit of a puzzle.

Sorted by hand, piece by piece, with a bit of maths, and of course, a print.
