When we started out we were completely clueless

all things caravanning! Post-kids we discovered a whole new world of adventure along with a whole new respect for the Australian holiday park and camping industry. We hope you might be too! If you aren’t you don’t know what you are missing – and we’d love to share with you! Our caravan is our little slice of escapism, we love to take regular short breaks and this is the perfect fit to our day-to-day life. There are no hotels to book, no gear to pack. We love the ability to escape at the drop of a hat. Whatever style of trip suits your family be it epic ocean-to-ocean or just a mini-break we look forward to getting to know you. This website is our online shop for our Travel Journals & Log Books, but also a destination to find some ideas and tips, handy links and a curation of the things we love. We’re loving The Hugo Shower Mirror from Tooletries. It’s an excellent fog-proof mirror for in the shower BUT that’s not just what we use ours for!
As a family of five with teenagers, there is quite a lot of time spent in the bathroom in front of the mirror each morning, so an extra mirror or two is definitely required to help get everyone ready in time!
The Hugo Shower Mirror sticks to any smooth or shiny surface without any glue or other type of adhesive & can be moved about the caravan as often as required.
It has really helped our caravan mornings run a bit more smoothly - especially on those days when we’re a bit pushed for time!

The kids were in their element playing with the owners kids, animal feeding, free-range chickens, ducks and of course H***y the pony, outback putt putt and the shipping container plunge pool. The grass was a welcome change after plenty of red dirt too!

‘10/10 off grid Hipcamp! This is Illbilbie station in QLD. Completely off grid, camp fire and dog friendly. Plenty of fire wood on the property. The creek is crystal clear with a rope swing and a zip line. The owners have kayaks, a stand up paddle board and blow up floaties for everyone to use. Honestly this stay was incredible and we extended for another night. We loved it here.’

Don’t miss the stunning Redbank Gorge when you visit the West MacDonnell Ranges. We decided to air-down on the way in as the road was a bit rough, but whether you need to do the same will just depend on the condition of the road at the time. It was also way too cold to swim on our visit.

‘The walk in took a little more effort than we had planned, but the reward was hard to beat. Blake took one for the team and braved the freezing water swimming right into the gorge 🫣

Happy to stay on the rocks for this one 😅’
