Really depends on the situation. How can I explain that not all loose-fitting jeans require taking in on both sides? As an example, these jeans were only altered at the back * ONLY **.
Through experience and years of working with new jeans and clothing alterations, I've refined the process into a few steps:
1_Remove existing seams,
2_ Iron the fabric before marking with chalk,
3_Draw a line up to the knee where pinned,
4_ Sew followed by overlocking,
5_ Finalize with steaming.
