Just to update my wonderful customers: I have been taking a little break from sewing and alterations this year as my mother's health issues have meant she is not able to live at home and is now in an aged care facility. Also, I am having to seek medical help for a few health issues brought on by extreme stress levels. Once things settle down I will be back sewing again. 🙂

As 2025 comes to a close, I have calculated all the sewing I have done this year:
180 alterations
12 Boomerang Bags made
2 Patchwork bags created
2 cushion covers sewn self drafted pattern
4 items of clothing created
19 small gifts sewn
101 name tags sewn on
plus, I replaced elastic in several reusable cloth nappies.

And no wonder the year has sped by! EDIT and I almost forgot I have almost finished a Christmas Table Runner Quilting Challenge.

In the past week I have:
- sewn 61 name tags on clothing
- sewn buttons on men's trousers
- patched a hole in a pocket of men's trousers
- shortened and rehemmed 2 pairs pants.

Still have a shirt to shorten and a shirt collar to stiffen with interfacing.
What will next week bring?

My old Bernina has been busy lately - mending work jeans, rehemming trousers, suit pants and skirts, creating a child's dress and much more. Number 142 Boomerang Bag was also completed.

Playing around with scraps of fabric last week and this led to creating these two quilted hearts. It's so nice to play around with scraps and see what I can create.

Just did a quick count of my sewing jobs this year (and we still have a couple of days left in 2024).
185 alterations
75 name tags sewn on clothes
15 pocket hugs made
4 floor steamer pads created
several scrunchies made
forgot to count how many Boomerang Bags sewn this year but 134 over 2 years
plus, several items of clothing made for grandchildren
and a pair of tracksuit pants for me!
Good thing my Bernina sewing machine is such a wonderful workhorse.
I do have some scrunchies and unpaper towels for sale still.

My sewing machine has been kept busy with so many alterations, sewing on name tags, plus creating Boomerang Bags and clothes for grandchildren. No new fabrics purchased - all from my huge stash!

A reversible Twig + Tale Petal Wrap tunic I made in size 6-9 months. I recycled jeans and a long sleeve shirt to create this. The orange snaps added a bit of pop! The pattern is so easy to follow and produces a really professional finish.

Although this page has been quiet, my sewing machine hasn't been. Over the past few months many pairs of pants and work shirts have been shortened, work shirts and jeans repaired, elastic renewed in pjs, two huge sacks created and sewn, floor steamer pads created and several other jobs including shortening the sleeves on my work jacket (rare that I get to do some sewing for me). Also sewed Boomerang Bag No. 115. Thank you to everyone for entrusting your mending/alterations to me.

Wishing all my clients and followers a very Happy New Year.
This year has been a big one with 146 items of clothing mended or altered! Plus, a whole lot of Boomerang bags created, almost finished a quilt top and even made some items of clothing for family. Bring on 2024!!!
